Chipotle Facing Natural Chicken Shortage
Guess it's a good thing I order barbacoa burritos.
But for those of you chicken burrito lovers out there, especially in Southern California, you may be at a temporary loss. Chipotle is facing a shortage of naturally raised chicken supply.
Chipotle likes to pride themselves in being a fast food chain that uses all natural products, mainly meat that has been naturally raised without the use of hormones and additional additives like most chains.
A spokesperson for Chipotle stated that they are looking to resolve the problem, but it is "a challenge...to source better ingredients from more sustainable sources when you are dealing on such a large scale."
Apparently about 75% of their meat is all natural, but they are looking to get it back up to 100%.
I guess for you, as a chicken burrito lover, it doesn't mean much more than you might be served up a mix of naturally raised and tampered with chicken, particularly if you live in Southern California (why exactly, I'm not sure, but I imagine the shortage is just affecting that area the most). For most I imagine this not being a huge deal, but for those of you who are concerned, you may want to try one of the other meats or the vegetarian option for a while.

@textilerex@xanga - They eat mostly "tampered with" chicken anyway. I don't think they would notice unless someone told them.
I usually get a vegetarian burrito, so, I'm good. ^^
@blinding_whitedresses@xanga - I like how you indirectly refer to meat eaters as stupid. It puts a nice positive spin on this whole pointless post - good job, you win for the day!
