Seattle had it’s Restaurant Week this past week and after looking over the long list of participating restaurants for the pre-fixed lunch menu I decided to go to my favorite brunch place which is a mix of Cajun/Creole and test out their lunch menu. I’m glad that I came in on an empty stomach, because I left with a full belly. See what my $15 bought me for what was the best lunch I ever had to date.
Three courses is quite a bit for lunch, but I could definitely do this once a month. Here’s what I had for $15 plus tip at
Toulouse Petit Lounge. I have to add that the bartender ended up paying for my drink, so I really came out on top this day!
Appetizer: Cauliflower and White Truffle Soup with Chantrells
This soup had so much flavor, and the crab meat added that little extra something special. For me personally anything that has truffle oil in it tastes good, but what I liked about this soup is that it wasn’t a heavy starter (more like a bisque) It was a nice delicate soup that packed lots of flavor.
Entree: Wild Boar and Beef Short Ribs Bolognese
I usually don’t order pasta when I’m dinning out (unless I’m in Italy), but once I saw that wild boar was mixed in I jumped at the chance to try it. This pasta dish was delicious from beginning to end. The meat was so fine that I couldn’t tell what was short rib or wild boar. I can definitely note that the wild boar brought a smoky flavor to the dish which I really enjoyed.
Dessert: White Chocolate Bread Pudding
When I was little my grandmas sister would make bread pudding, and one day I finally tried it and I don’t know exactly why- but I did not like it at all! However, I decided to give this white chocolate bread pudding a try. I’m so glad I did, because it had more of a French toast texture and it was served alamode with some delicious vanilla ice cream. The gooey part of the bread pudding that so many people love was actually on the side and I like being able to spoon it in with my ice cream.
I was so thankful that the appetizer and dessert portions were only half, because when it was all said and done I was so full I couldn't even order another drink (Not that I needed one anyway). I remained full for the rest of the day, and was glad I took advantage of Restaurant Week.
Do you get out and take advantage when your local Restaurants are having deals?

this looks amazing.
omgsh wild boar! I love goat meat and wild boar!
in the Bay Area we have the Dine About Town event twice a year, where tons of great restaurants offer prix-fixe menus, just like the one mentioned here
this year its going to be $21.95 for lunch and dinner at $34.95i think last year's lunch was cheaper, but $35 for those dinners are usually a very good dealan alternative way is to join sites like Groupon or Open Table that will periodically give you discount coupons or "pay $25 for a $50 restaurant credit" those are pretty good deals
