Recently, I have been reading articles that analyze the success of McDonald's globally as they find a nice approach to different communities by adjusting their menus and service style accordingly.
Looking at that one story where a Japanese boy, who came across a McDonald's in the States, exclaimed,"They have Japanese food here!", we can see how McDonald's is doing a
pretty good job in terms of assimilating into different cultural communities.
I can't remember the last time I went to a McDonald's but next time I travel to another country, I am seriously going to march into their store and order whatever I have never seen before in the original American menus!
So below is a list of their products of "assimilation" from a variety of different countries!
1. [Finland & Norway] Laksewrap: Wrap with fish inside.

2. [Singapore & Philippines] McRiceburger: fried rice cakes replace bread patties.

3. [Middle East] McArabia: Grilled chicken or Kofta (grilled beef with spices) wrapped in pita bread.

4. [Morocco] Recette Moutarde: Mustart and other ingredients on ciabatta bread

5. [Dubai] Veg McPuff Pizza: tomato paste and vegetables inside rectangular dough.

6. [India] Chicken McCurry Pan: tomato curry sauce, chicken, bell peppers, cheese, and spices placed inside a dough pan.

7. [France] Croque McDo: two slices of cheese and a slice of ham grilled between two flattened buns.

8. [Germany] Beer: of course

.

9. [Japan] Bacon Potato Pie: mashed potatoes and bacon replace apple pie filling.

10. [Turkey] Chocolate Orange Pie: they should have this EVERYWHERE.

11. [England] Bacon Roll: Bacon with ketchup on a hard roll.

12. [Canada] Poutine: Chunks of Cheese and hot gravy poured on top of fries--this thing is
delicious, I promise.

13. [Costa Rica] Gallo pinto: beans and rice.

14. [New Zealand] Kiwiburger: egg, tomato, lettuce, cheese, onion, cooked beetroot, sauce and mustard on a bun--I would have loved to see them try to come up with something creative using kiwi for this burger though!

15. [Hawaii] McDonalds Deluxe Breakfast: Rice, Eggs, Spam, and Sausage patties.

Thanks for reading!
Which ones have you tried? Which ones would you really want to try in the future?

I've had a Kiwi burger and they are about the nastiest things on earth.
I want the one from canada... RIGHT MEOW
when i use to live in the philippines, they had fried chicken and rice on the menu. that was my favorite.
As a German currently living in Germany, I can debunk number 11.
As much as we love beer, no one would buy it at McDonald's. Quality is way too important to us when it comes to beer. ;)
Sorry, I meant number 8. :)
I want to try the chocolate orange pie. And the bacon potato pie sounds like it would be a great breakfast item.
There's beer in most McDonald's on mainland Europe :)
I want the one from canada, germany and japan! i'm super jealous now!
I actually would like to try number 2 or 3. They look delicious.
@haley1262@xanga - right meow made me giggle.
McRice burger has long been dead in the PI. Chicken McDo and Rice plus the breakfast buffet in Hawaii...we have it here too.
@fields_of_sunflowers@xanga - and is it affordable and.... dare I say... Tasty!? Or badly-produced and majorly overpriced?
@theacematt2@xanga - I only tried it in France. It was...okay. I mean, it was cheap, but it obviously wasn't high-quality stuff, which is only to be expected from a fast food place. I only drank it say I had tried beer from McDonald's, really. Alcohol is cheap over there anyway, so honestly, you'd be better off getting some from the local supermarket or bar.
i live in canada and work at mcdonald's, i can honestly say we do noot have poutine ! i live near toronto and they don't either (at least where i've been), although maybe in random provinces they do.. i think quebec might? but i haven't seen any in the provinces i've been too): although new brunswick doesss have the mclobster sandwich or something(: mmm i wish we had some of this stuff !
McArabia with chicken is AMAZING and I miss eating them while I was in Egypt, since they had a McD on the campus.
I think Kiwi is a nickname for people in New Zealand, that's why it's probably called a kiwi burger. I think it's new zealand people..hmmm....
The US really needs to step up their game.. D:
I want numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, and 12.
...It just would've been easier to name what I didn't want. xD
they all look good. i want to try them all! i've had the japanese mcdonalds, i always thought theirs tasted so much healthier than america, plus they have melon soda! lol when i moved to the mainland, i came to the realization that hawaii is the only one to serve spam, i was like "oh duh...of course the mainland isn't gonna have that" but i expected it just because i was used to it lol.
i had #7 the last time i visited france, which was like years ago. i was still a meat-eater. this is interesting though, i like seeing food around the world.
xx@skinnyispretty__x@xanga - yeah it's from Burger King, I don't know why it got put up here!
Sorry folks.
I want a chocolate orange pie!
It's so weird that spam is popular in Hawaii.
definitely want to try the McRiceburger, McCurry Pan and the Chocolate Orange Pie
I'd probably try one...but I'm addicted to fish...otherwise I'll still with my American McDonalds.
A kiwi is a type of bird that is in New Zealand. They are probably in Australia too. I think you're thinking of a kiwi fruit? Which would be disgusting...
In Hawaii, pineapple is served with the value meals (or at least it used to be).
people from New Zealand are Kiwi's.... hence no kiwi fruit on the burger...
