Hello April: National Garlic Month!!!
Some of you may recall a post I made not too long ago, entitled "Hi, My Name is Ali and I'm Addicted to Garlic."
The title speaks for itself, so it should come as no surprise that April has taken the win for my favorite month. Why, you ask? It's National Garlic MONTH!!
An entire month dedicated to garlic is truly something special. To celebrate, read on for a list of fun facts about garlic. I promise you that loving garlic is nothing to feel guilty about!
Did You Know..?
Garlic has a reputation in Folklore for being a cure-all wonder drug, helping to prevent illnesses such as the common cold, flu, and even the plague!
Garlic is a powerful natural antioxidant and the body does not build up a resistance to it, therefore it's health benefits never cease to work.
Garlic is said to help treat symptoms of acne.
Garlic can also help to manage cholesterol levels.
Garlic ALSO helps to lower blood sugar and keep your immune system healthy.
But be careful!
Eating too much garlic in its raw form can actually work against you, as it can destroy essential enzymes in your stomach and cause digestive problems. But worry not if you are eating garlic in cooked or powdered form!
How do you plan on showing your love for garlic in this wonderful month of April?

aw yeah i love cooking with garlic!
(:garlic will also protect you from vampires ;]
i loove garlic. i cook with it as much as possible, but perhaps i should double the amount i normally use, or perhaps make a necklace out of it and parade down the street with a bunch of friends to celebrate. ^^
Hahaha, I've heard that garlic is good for colds, so one time, my mom made me sleep with some garlic in my room. I ended up throwing up >.<
I knew those facts about garlic, but that doesn't mean I can get used to the taste. Actually, raw garlic, dipped in sauce accompanied with meat tastes pretty good (I can't believe I tried it, but I did). I'm sure you have to eat more than a clove of garlic to have negative effects. I can't see anyone eating enough to mess up their digestive system even if you do love garlic. Garlic is really good for you, it's just the strong smell and taste makes people avoid them, especially in social situations, which is almost always. I'm starting to enjoy garlic more since I started cooking, it's not so bad when I minced it all up =P
Guilty about garlic? Why would it ever even occur to anyone that guilt over garlic was even possible? People are waaaayyyy too hung up.
Me + garlic=Loooveee! I can't eat too much though, will make me stink :p lol
