Domino's "Pulling The Cheese" Commercials
Ever wonder how Domino's commercials always have the perfect depiction of stretchy cheese when a slice is pulled?
Well, it's done by nailing the pizza to the table and tweezing the cheese, of course! And that's not all...
Nails, electric screwdrivers, blowdryers, syringes...all of these are vital parts of making Domino's pizza look as appetizing as it does in commercials. Check out this YouTube video below explaining how the process works, including appearances by the pizza chef and the hand model who lifts the slice!
It may seem like a lot, but I must admit..seeing that cheese pull makes my mouth water every time!
What do you think of the measures taken to film a pizza commercial?

Ew.
The same amount of work is put into any food commercial - food artists know how to make their products visually appealing.
lmaoo thats ridiculous
I'm craving some melted cheese on a bunch of stuff now.
There was a post this past week comparing how various fast food products look in commercials versus how they look when you order them. Same thing.
@o0_Innocent_0o@xanga - ditto.
Lol...this is soo enlightening. Who knew all that work went into making the pizza look like that.
Haha, whoa.
That may be super decietful, but it's so cool to know. :)
I don't like domino's pizza. They never put enough cheese on the pizza. I like pizza hut.
lol I never knew
That hand model is hilarious.
damn that would suck to have any of those jobs lol. i want some pizza now.
Well, pretty much all food commercials or advertisements go through that much work, if not more.
the part where they actually nail the pizza onto the table surprises me most
I really don't get why this is surprising...
@eatandrant@xanga - yea that's gross, factory made ftl
@explosive@xanga - Corporate Pizza ftw? I think you can find a local pizza place that's better than any franchise if you look. You don't go to Mexico for Taco Bell food. :D
I've had the pleasure of eating Fox's Den and Gionino's, Ohio; Fultano's and Marzano's, Oregon. Nostalgia > Corporate:
Papa John's
Sbarro
Pizza Hut
Godfather's
Domino's
Little Caesers
Isn't Dominos the one that did the commercials about them not nailing the pizza to the table (like other major brands)?
Or maybe it was Papa John's... I don't remember. I just know Domino's has the one that has people in a field of tomatoes...
"And I get two toppings with that? OK, I'll have nails and... mm, the syringes look good. Yeah, I'll get that, thanks."
Hand models remind me of George Costanza lol.
I read an article once on several tricks people in the food commercial industry use to make everything look so delicious all the time haha.
EVERY food commercial does this, to make food more delicious-looking. The Food Network did a bit about this a while back. It's surprising it's even actually cheese they're using.
HAHAHAHAH THE CAMERA GUYS FACE AT 2:22!!! he's like " really?.....I spent 20 grand a year at the nations top film school for this?!?!.....really?"
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH PRICELESS!!!
HOLY CRAP!
SO THATS HOW THEY DO IT
I'm eating a dominos right now...
hahah oh my god, that's crazy.
