  • Deconstructed Waldorf Salad

This is a guest post from Thibeault's Table.

I made Moe another salad this week - A deconstructed Waldorf Salad. You can find the original recipe on the British Larder.

I made a couple of adjustments.
I cheated, using Hellman's Mayo as the basis for the dressing.
Doctored it up with fresh garlic, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper,  fresh lemon juice and a little rice wine vinegar for a touch of sweetness.
I subbed Gorgonzola for the Oxford Blue.
And the grocery store was out of watercress so I added red cabbage for a bit of colour.
    Moe loved this salad.
I think the next time I make it for him I will also add green onion or chives and I like the idea of adding dates.
Dates and Gorgonzola go beautifully together.

My philosophy of cooking is simple - "Recipes are meant to be shared". Blogging now provides opportunities to share recipes on a global level with no expense to readers. The recipes are either original, adaptations, or, in some cases unchanged from an original source. I always try to give attribution to the original source. The photos are all original. I would appreciate the courtesy of an acknowledgment and a link back to my blog if one of my recipes or photos are copied and posted elsewhere. Thank you for visiting my Blogs.
