Fast Food Advertisements Vs. Real Life
We all know that fast food advertisements are always a little misleading. The ad is always perfectly plump, colorful, juicy, fresh. The actual product? Well, not so much. Though the food may be good, it never looks that good. Check out the differences between the advertisement depictions and real life appearances.
1) Big Mac - McDonald's
2) Whopper - Burger King

3) Angus Deluxe Third Pounder - McDonald's

4) Crunchy Taco - Taco Bell

5) Tacos - Jack in the Box

You can take a look at the original source of the pictures here. They also include a few examples of how the advertised food wouldn't even fit in the actual containers they come in.
Have you ever been completely disappointed with the food you got compared to the advertisement for it?

"Rotated to the most attractive angle"
LOL. Ahh. It's always disappointing. My taco bell food always looks like the advertisements. But then, I always get the chalupas. Omg now I want one. Sooo goooood...
LOL "Rotated to most attractive angle" thats cute.
Not really, but then, I'm more concerned with how it tastes.
I love this... for some reason I thought it was just the place being in a hurry or something... this is hilarious!
@MiaJoyTheWriter@xanga - Now you're making me want Taco Bell! Cheesy fiesta potatoes = my love.
THANK YOU. I always really really wanted to see what they looked like next to each other. Phew, such a dramatic.. difference O:
Haha, why do these "actual" pictures look so awful? XDDD
Pretty sure the few times I get fast food, it looks quite a bit better. Looks like all of these got sat on.
Being a bit harshhhhhh. XD
Whenever I get a whopper, it always looks like the advertisements o_o Sometimes even bigger because I put a lot of veggies on it. I've never had any of those other things, though, so I don't know about those.
I've had to explain to a woman before who wanted a certain burrito she saw on TV that it doesn't look like the picture because it was photoshopped. Actually, in advertisements, they use smaller buns, cardboard between the layers of food, and professionally trimmed, maybe sometimes fabric or plastic, ingredients. In real fast food places, though, it's done at the fastest speed with no regard for how it looks. The times that I actually do make the food, my co-workers get onto me for TRYING to make it look pretty. Which makes me wonder what the hell I'm doing in fast food anyway.
Really depends on the restaurant. Here on the UK, most BKs and McDs run as franchises, so if one franchise happens to have staff that actually give a damn, then the burgers are soooo much better.
Tsk tsk. A sad reality.
ALL the time. A lot of things/people aren't as advertised...
Thank you so much for posting those photos. It's always good to see the truth. I guess it's impossible to expect honesty from these megacorporations. They are convinced that honesty is bad for business.
Wonders of Kale
Jack in The Box tacos look funky as hell.
such a disappointment
The commercials present the product in the most favorable light. It's not the producers' fault if the the people who actually make the food can't make it look as good as they do, now is it?
I know better than to compare it to the advertisement but it is a bit of a disappointment at times
always disappointed at the big mac looks so big and yummy in ads
it's always a disgusting flop when i get it =/
lmfao they gotta make it attractive to the consumers some how. being disappointed should be expected..it's fast food what do u expect??!
That's like the girls on the late night chat commercials. No one who looks like that is on the chat line. LOL dummies!
Furthermore, the people eating on the commercials don't look like any of the people in the restuarants. On the commercials they're all just laughing and having a good time, thin and beautiful. Reality... not so much.
That's just because they hire "food artists" who use a variety of tools to make their products look more attractive on television.
in the words of Santino Rice "You can't polish a turd."
"Rotated to the most attractive angle"
"Slightly fluffed up for picture"
LMAO How do you "fluff" a sandwich?
"Excuse me, that sandwich is looking a little flat, may I fluff it for you?"
Bahahahaha :'D
