8 Strange Beverages From Around The World
I never knew there were so many odd drinks that existed. But in this world, I probably shouldn't have been surprised.
1) Placenta 10000/Placenta 40000 - Japan
Made from the placenta of pigs, this drink is meant to help revitalize one's youth. Placenta is thought to have rejuvenating properties and can help to even out skin tone. Available in a 10,000mg pouch or a 40,000mg bottle.
2) Bilk - Japan

What do you get when you combine 2 parts beer and 1 part milk? Bilk! This drink was created in response to the concerns that came about in the waste of all of Japan's surplus milk. Apparently, it has quite the fruity taste.
3) Tamla Village's Maneul Saem - South Korea
A.K.A. Garlic drink. I'm a garlic lover and all..but I'm not so sure I'd drink it by the bottle. Don't enjoy garlic? Don't worry. There's an onion flavor, too.
4) Soda Sua Hot Ga - Vietnam

This is essentially raw egg yolk mixed with sweetened condensed milk and then mixed with club soda for carbonation.
5) Jones Turkey & Gravy Soda - USA

Nothing like Thanksgiving dinner in liquid form. This turkey and gravy flavored soda actually comes as part of a holiday pack with accompanying flavors that change from year to year. Some flavors of the past include: Mashed Potato & Butter, Green Bean Casserole, Wild Herb Stuffing, Pumpkin Pie, Brussel Sprout, and Dinner Roll among many others.
6) NEEDS Cheese Drink - Japan

This drink was created in order to raise awareness about cheese in Japan. Available in berry, yuzu citrus, and plain flavors. The makers of the beverage state that it is also a great salad dressing...which makes me question why anyone would drink it even more.
7) Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray - USA

This soda dates back to the 1860's, made from the extract of celery seeds. So essentially, it is celery soda. Though strange, I think this actually has potential to be kind of good.
8) Anything and Whatever - Singapore

In a way, this idea is ingenious. For those of you who are indecisive but are open to flavor, these drinks are perfect. Both offer a surprise flavor inside that cannot be known until you try it! Anything is carbonated with apple, cola with lemon, fizz up, cloudy lemon or root beer as it's flavors. Whatever is non-carbonated, offering ice lemon tea, peach tea, jasmine green tea, white grape tea, apple tea, or chrysanthemum tea as it's flavors.

lol never
Anything and Whatever! It's sad that they are being discounted over here in Singapore. I used to serve that to friends and family members who came to my house because they are always indecisive about what to drink.
the soda sua hot ga is actually pretty yummy! so is bilk and the garlic drink (i drink it with bread)! keke. i dont like milk or cheese, so when i had bilk, i joked with my mom about it being my dairy replacement. she didnt think it was funny.
Japan, was expected :p. You for got "Calpris" it sounds like "Cow Piss" lol @_@ a drink from Japan!
@SleepyFob@xanga - haha well if it counts I think it's funny! I'd be willing to try those drinks I suppose. I think the only one I don't think I could stomach trying is this Placenta 10000 business. bleh
@Candilicious_Meanie@xanga - I wish they sold them here in New York! Maybe they do, but I haven't seem them. I'd probably be obsessed haha I myself am often indecisive
My stomach is turning just reading this post.
I tried the Anything or Whatever. They are just like any other soda drinks, like orange or apple, and flavors aren't something to wow over, but they are a nice thirst quenchers.
I'd try the Bilk, it might be okay. and I'd definitly try Whatever or Anything, yay for surprises !
this website is very good, you can go and see it

Bilk = YUCK
do not like #4
#8 would be good unless they make one of the flavors :jizz, in that case i wouldn't want it
Haha those are kind of interesting
The only ones I'm willing to try is Anything or Whatever.
I looooove sua hot ga :D but instead of carbonated soda, my mom likes to add fresh orange juice.. maybe thats another drink. whatevs. it's still awesome :)
@Japanesenightpurplegeisha@xanga - I LOVED CALPIS.
hahaha, how fun!
Why are all of these mostly Asian, specifically Japanese? It's ALWAYS Asian things that top the "most weirdest __________ in the world" lists.
This obviously has been written by a Western person who doesn't understand that GOOD TASTE extends many borders. That's what Asian people understand.
And if you think this comment is close-minded, it's really not. This POST about "Strange Beverages From Around The World" (read: mostly Asia) is close-minded.
For my OWN integrity, I must stand up for Asian people.
majority sounds revolting, though i'd probably give soda sua hot ga a try
What? Nobody else drinks Ranch dressing? Amazing, >.>
The last sounds pretty interesting. Reminds me of a suicide. When mixing soda ya never quite know what you'll end up with.
Anything and Whatever would probably be the only thing on this list I'd try. Can't say the others sound appealing to me.
Soda Sua Hot Ga sounds really goood.
aand I think I'd try chugging bilk just once.
I'd probably taste all of them at least once if given the chance. Drinking a whole can/bottle of any of them, however, is another case lol.
I love this list, because i'm a drink fanatic! :]
I tried number 4, taking a sip of my friend's drink...it would have been good without the soda.
5... I love Jones but hate gravy so...no. xD
The last one seems awesome! I would try. Also celery soda... but I wish it was cucumber or something else instead..
haha the first one grossed me out. the others were like ehh they have a small possibility
but i would try anything.
haha literally the drink anything.
