  • 8 Strange Beverages From Around The World

I never knew there were so many odd drinks that existed. But in this world, I probably shouldn't have been surprised.

    1) Placenta 10000/Placenta 40000 - Japan

Made from the placenta of pigs, this drink is meant to help revitalize one's youth. Placenta is thought to have rejuvenating properties and can help to even out skin tone. Available in a 10,000mg pouch or a 40,000mg bottle.

    2) Bilk - Japan

What do you get when you combine 2 parts beer and 1 part milk? Bilk! This drink was created in response to the concerns that came about in the waste of all of Japan's surplus milk. Apparently, it has quite the fruity taste.

    3) Tamla Village's Maneul Saem - South Korea

A.K.A. Garlic drink. I'm a garlic lover and all..but I'm not so sure I'd drink it by the bottle. Don't enjoy garlic? Don't worry. There's an onion flavor, too.

    4) Soda Sua Hot Ga - Vietnam

This is essentially raw egg yolk mixed with sweetened condensed milk and then mixed with club soda for carbonation.

    5) Jones Turkey & Gravy Soda - USA

Nothing like Thanksgiving dinner in liquid form. This turkey and gravy flavored soda actually comes as part of a holiday pack with accompanying flavors that change from year to year. Some flavors of the past include: Mashed Potato & Butter, Green Bean Casserole, Wild Herb Stuffing, Pumpkin Pie, Brussel Sprout, and Dinner Roll among many others.

    6) NEEDS Cheese Drink - Japan

This drink was created in order to raise awareness about cheese in Japan. Available in berry, yuzu citrus, and plain flavors. The makers of the beverage state that it is also a great salad dressing...which makes me question why anyone would drink it even more.

    7) Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray - USA

This soda dates back to the 1860's, made from the extract of celery seeds. So essentially, it is celery soda. Though strange, I think this actually has potential to be kind of good.

    8) Anything and Whatever - Singapore

In a way, this idea is ingenious. For those of you who are indecisive but are open to flavor, these drinks are perfect. Both offer a surprise flavor inside that cannot be known until you try it! Anything is carbonated with apple, cola with lemon, fizz up, cloudy lemon or root beer as it's flavors. Whatever is non-carbonated, offering ice lemon tea, peach tea, jasmine green tea, white grape tea, apple tea, or chrysanthemum tea as it's flavors.

Would you ever try any of these beverages? HAVE you tried any of these?
