6 Not-So-Average Pizzas
My boyfriend and I ended up ordering a large pie for dinner on Valentine’s Day…how romantic! I had two buffalo chicken slices and he had two plain and a pepperoni. We turned on the television and like magic, one of my favorite shows, “The Best Thing I Ever Ate”, appeared on the Food Network. What was the main topic of this particular show? Why pizza of course!
I unfortunately caught the very end of the show, where Chef Aaron Sanchez was raving about the chocolate pizza at Max Brenner in New York City. Everyone who knows me knows how crazy I am about Max Brenner, and I have seen this pizza with my own eyes (but I haven’t tried it yet).
Brenner's chocolate pizza consists of milk chocolate from Belgium, marshmellows, bananas, peanut butter, hazelnut, and flour.
My boyfriend was a little disgusted about this whole chocolate pizza idea, especially when the camera zoomed in on Sanchez eating the pizza. If he thought that was disgusting, than I can only imagine what he would think of the Japanese“Mega Pizza” from Pizza Hut.
The crust is made of mini hot dogs wrapped in bacon and rolls of molten cheese. The actual pizza is made with hamburgers, cheese rolls, Italian sausage, bacon bits, ham, mushrooms, sliced tomato, onions, black pepper, garlic chips, basil, and tomato sauce. As if all of this is not enough, there are also two more toppings to choose from, ketchup and maple syrup. For all of the cheese lovers out there, Domino’s in South Korea has a triple cheese pizza which consists of three thin crusts, each topped with a different kind of cheese. The bottom layer has chedder, the middle has camembert, and the top has emmental.

South Korea is also home to the Mizza from Pizza Hut, which replaces traditional crust with a thick patty of rice.
Pizza huts in Hong Kong offer Abalone Sauce Cheesy Lava Stuffed Crust Pizza. Talk about a mouthful! This pizza contains abalone sauce, crayfish and crab roe dressing, chicken, seafood, and enoki mushrooms. The crust consists of mozzarella, parmesan, and chedder cheese which ooze out of the crust holes.
Mr. Pizza in South Korea offers the Grand Prix, which consists of a cookie crust, and is topped with shrimp and potato. The cookie crust is sprinkled with sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and raisins and the pizza comes with blueberry dipping sauce.
Would you try any of these pizzas? What’s the weirdest pizza you’ve ever eaten?

Those all look disgusting.
That first one looks ok but the rest are just eh. I love the pizza at the Museum of the Marine in Quantico. Its in the Tun Tavern resturant and has goat cheese, so freakin' yummy!!
Max Brenner can do no wrong.
Definitely the chocolate pizza. (Bit of a no-brainer, actually.) The South Korean triple cheese pizza sounds interesting, and I would probably give it a try, as well as the Grand Prix pizza.
The Japanese Mega Pizza sounds and looks like something that EpicMealTime would put together.
The only one I would consider would be the chocolate one, and only without the bananas. I didn't become truly disgusted until the last pizza, though. Cookie crust, shrimp, and blueberry sauce - seriously? People have stronger stomachs than I, that's for damn sure.
I would love to try that triple cheese pizza. That actually kinda sounds good. The chocolate one doesn't sound too bad. I don't even know what to say about the last one. Cookie crust with shrimp and blueberry sauce? Very weird.
I wanan try the first one.
I lived in South Korea for nearly 2 years & I LOVED their pizza! They have great stuff there! The best one, I think, is the "potato pizza." mmmm!
yeah no lie, it may look gross but south korean food is generally very good. I would want to try the last one
Chocolate pizza!
why isn't some these pizzas in the US!!!!
I would try the chocolate pizza. It looks good...for dessert! One can argue that it's a chocolate tart! Maybe I'd try that 3 cheese pizza from South Korean Dominos. I can't say I've tried too many unique pizza toppings, probably the most different would be a buffalo chicken pizza (it was chicken breast, no bones).
i'll pass on the chocolate pizza and the japanese mega pizza, but i'd love to try the mizza.
I think i'd try the three cheese pizza, I like the thought of trying out that first pizza there, but I think it may be too much, even for a meat lover like me. O_O
Why are almost all of these Asian pizzas? I'd try the first one for sure.
Japan and Hong Kong's one doesn't taste bad actually. Myself from Hong Kong found pizza hut Hong Kong isn't as attractive as UK though because Hong Kong people seem to prefer thick layers instead of thin crust. I remember sometimes ago, my little sister invited some of her friends for her birthday party at pizza and the pizzas didn't come out as appealing as it should be. I didn't even touch any pizzas and just ate spaghetti, lasagne and snacks lol
Gross. cookies and shrimp?
chocolate marshmallow pizza ftw
Those Crazy Koreans i tell ya.
The chocolate pizza sounds good, but only so much of it. I'm sure a certain amount would get sickening. I also think the Mizza would be pretty good.
Try strawberry cheesecake pizza!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I made a chocolate pizza as Halloween special at the pizzeria I worked at! My boss loved it, but it didn't get many hits. I thought it was a good idea...
koreans have cool pizzas. lol, thinking about pizzas make me hungry
i want to try the chocolate pizza and the hamburger pizza.. i wonder how they will taste like.I would inhale each and every one of these pizzas.
@SKY_SEOUL@xanga - definitely.
OP:Though I have to say, these pizzas sound sooooo gross..maybe they taste better than what they sound like?
