5 Foods That Help Your Memory
It's no news that Alzheimer's disease is a growing concern for millions of Americans. While the cause of the disease is still unknown, research has shown that certain foods play a critical role in preventing Alzheimer's and other forms of neurological damage. Read on to learn about some brain-boosting options.1. Fish- A study conducted by the Rush Institute for Healthy Aging shows that people who eat fish at least once a week are 60 percent less likely to develop Alzheimer's than those who consume little to no fish. Try reducing your consumption of red meat and cook up some fish instead.
2. Blueberries- These little guys help prevent the degeneration of neurons and brain cells- aka, putting a delay on Alzheimer's and other mental diseases. They even heal damaged tissue, which will help keep your brain running strong for a long time.
3. Cantaloupe- This melon contains potassium, which helps oxygen travel to the brain. Eating cantaloupe results in an overall improvement in your mental health, and you'll feel more focused, too.
4. Nuts- The vitamin E in nuts helps improve cognitive functions that can decline as you age. Try eating some every day as a snack- you'll be surprised at how fast they'll fill you up.
5. Avocados- While these fruits are notorious for being fatty, they help improve blood flow to the brain, which reduces your chance of getting a stroke. Best of all, avocados can be eaten in a variety of ways, whether they're in guacamole, on sandwiches or even in milkshakes!

Avacado milkshakes are surprisingly good.
Yum!
dislike cantaloupes not that tasteful
but LOVEE LOVE LOVEEE blueberries and avocadoes!
Just that blue berries are darn expensive and I tend to buy too many avocados at once, then end up only eating half and the rest spoils
fish...I get scared of cooking fish. Very delicate meat, never had any luck cooking it
i love salmon. some red meat is ok, just depends on what part.
I love all those! I need to eat more before the MCAT!!
I like all of these except fish. boo.
I'm not a big fish eater either, but I love salmon and ahi tuna! They're not fishy tasting at all. Tilapia is also pretty good. My roommate and I made fish tacos once and used the taco seasoning on it... it tasted awesome.
Thanks for the info.
Thanks Gina for this very informative info. I am bookmarking this.
Food being human's fuel, it is precious info to be informed about what they do bring to us.
I'd save these but I can't seem to remember where I put my pencil and I forgot how to bookmark.
