  • Top 5 Pizza Chains...It's Amore!

I am a pizza fanatic.  I can easily (and proudly) say that pizza is my favorite food.  It's so versatile- if you get sick of eating pepperoni and sausage, pile on some veggies.  If you're worn out from marinara, switch to white sauce.  But how do you really decide where to order?  It takes some experience- both the good and the bad- and it depends on your own personal taste.  Personally, I'm up for almost anything.  "Almost" meaning there's exceptions, like this.

I've compiled a list of my favorite pizza chains, and they're in no particular order since my mood for pizza places often changes.  Enjoy!

    1. Donato's

This pizza is amazing beyond words.  Their pepperoni is incredible, and they mean it when they say there's one hundred on there (I've counted).  Pepperoni paired with the thin crust makes for a crunchy food orgasm.  On a side note, they cut their pizzas into smaller square pieces.  I've often found myself eating more than I should because of this.  But hey, carpe diem, right?

    2. Papa John's

The sweet tomato sauce mixed with the complimentary garlic butter is delicious.  This pizza is less crispy and more doughy, so it's more comparable to New York style.  The overall flavor of Papa John's is really unique, and definitely something that's hard to compete with.

    3. Hungry Howie's

A favorite of my college town, this place offers eight crust flavors to choose from- fo' free!  I'd recommend garlic herb, but if you want to spice things up a bit, try the cajun (warning: it's reeeally hot!).

    4. Marco's

Like Papa John's you can't go wrong with garlic butter sauce.  I especially love Marco's because they have so many deals. My friends and I just ordered a 16" sheet pizza last night for only $6.99.  Can you say "awesome"?

    5. Domino's

You might be surprised to find this on the list.  But Domino's has made a huge turnaround in the past year or so.  Their pizza used to be lifeless and sort of "meh" to eat, kind of like how I would feel watching Frasier- I could take it or leave it.  Now, I've discovered that Domino's has listened to their customers, and they've delivered and catered (haha!) to everyone's wants and needs.  Their crust has a nice bit of flavor to it now, and it seems that they've been using better ingredients (you'll notice when you try it).  Again, they have a lot of deals going on, probably to lure customers back in.  Give it a second chance, trust me.
