Turkey You Can Drink???
I'm usually a pretty big fan of alcohol-infused foods. Alcohol-drenched fruit? Delicious. Liquor-soaked cake? Heavenly. But vodka-soaked turkey? I'm not so sure about that one.Georgi Vodka and the United Restaurant and Tavern Owners Association created a "100-proof turkey," available at over 100 pubs and taverns in New York City on Thanksgiving. For $29.95, you could get a full meal of turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and sweet potatoes, and for $69 you could pick up a fully-cooked version to take to your guests at home.
Chefs infused the turkey with eight ounces of flavored vodka (a mix of peach, cherry, orange, lemon and apple vodkas) for three days before Thanksgiving, giving it a strong vodka flavor. However, since most of the alcohol content evaporated during cooking, the chefs also created a 100-proof vodka gravy to serve on the side.
As pub owner Paul Hurley, owner of one of the pubs serving the turkey, said: "It's a turkey you can eat and drink at the same time, but you'll need a cab home... there's an ounce of vodka in every bite."
If this sounds like something you'd like, the creators of the turkey published the recipe for you to try at home!
100-Proof Turkey Recipe
Would you try vodka-soaked turkey?
14 lb turkey
2 bunch thyme
2 bunch oregano
2 bunch sage
1 carrot, peeled and diced
1 onion, peeled and diced
2 stems celery, diced
6 oz olive oil
8 oz fresh cranberries
4 oz Georgi Vodka each in the following flavors: peach, apple, cherry, orange and lemon
8 oz Georgi Blue Vodka (100 proof)
Put turkey breast-down the night before with the diced vegetables, one bunch each of fresh herbs, cranberries and 4 oz of each flavored vodka. Refrigerate to marinate. On the morning of Thanksgiving, turn the turkey breast-up and cover with herbs and vegetables. Roast in oven at 375 degrees for three hours.
Blend the remaining fresh herbs, olive oil and Georgi Vodka Blue and inject into turkey.

No, because I'm a vegetarian, but my family makes all sorts of meat with beer all the time. Part of being rednecks, I guess.
Yes I would love to~!
