Espresso and Caffeine 101: What's in Your Daily Latte?
(via swissmiss)
Having worked at a Dunkin' Donuts before, I thought I knew my way around the espresso machine- my very limited knowledge consisted of the turbo, latte, and cappuccino. And not much else. Well, browsing through the Internet for espresso/coffee information has resulted in these beautifully crafted diagrams that have seriously equipped me with the info I need for my next and nearly inevitable appointment at Starbucks.
Enjoy! I highly recommend taking a closer look at the very last image (my favorite), which details how much caffeine and calories go in various drinks (for those who wish to take the most effective caffeine boost in the morning: a large black Americano shalt do the trick).
Click on the images to get an enlarged look at what goes inside your usual coffee.

Aside from how the Venn diagrams are enticingly pretty and all that... a unique way in understanding what goes in what and all that technical jazz...

I am sort of amazed as to how a single Tall Black Starbucks coffee ranks so high in the caffeine list...and how low Red Bull is...anyway, a cute poster on caffeine tidbits.

Again, how Starbucks can severely induce the jitters...

For those conscious about their weight, please infer the above diagram for your most scientific (research done by Starbucks.co.uk) choice of caffeine...
Questions for caffeine addicts:
What coffee-drink do you enjoy the most? Which do you think is the most effective? Do you like energy drinks as alternatives?

I adore coffee drinks. Most of the main ones I know by memory because I'm kind of obsessed with espresso.
Espresso doesn't have as much caffeine as drip coffee because the water has less contact with the bean. But for lattes you usually add flavor shots in addition to the steamed milk, so the calories add up. I always get whole milk, but the smallest size available. And when I make them at home I make them pretty small.
There's not a Starbucks in the town where I live now, but I'm moving this spring and am going to try to get a job there. Or at least Panera or Dunkin Donuts.
interesting!!
I love tea because I don't get crazy caffeine high and crash after
I like white chocolate mochas with an extra shot of espresso.
Wow. Thanks for the images! :)
hahah i work at dunkin so i find this pretty interesting.. i love making drinks!
Love it! I'm printing these out and posting them around the cafe I work at! Hilarious!
flat white for this kid! skim milk!
I actually wrote a paper on healthy Starbucks choices...
Why would anyone order just an espresso?
I get the White Nights Red Eye at Dazbog... Which is expresso + drip coffee and a splash of milk. SO GOOD.
I do americano! :) Yum num. I drink drip coffee black. It's how I roll. I am surprised how much more caffeine coffee has than energy drinks. That's odd.
Coffee. Tall. Black.
S'all i need =]
Vanilla Chai Latte , it's so addictive (it's from a cafe store near my school). Either that or pumpkin spice latte or Caramel Frappe from Starbucks
