Hey all, good morning! Have you tried the KFCs Double Down Yet? Arkensen and Nanzaro was waiting for that day when it was going to be available in Canada for the first time. I think it was just the last Monday. While I promised them I will bring them to try it but I was just simply too busy at work that I did not do that. Monday past ... Tuesday past ... and then when I got home on Wednesday, equally as tired, they gave up on me and went on their own to try it.
My boys are fast food junkies. They like these kind of food and can have fast food everyday if we allow them to. So I thought that they will come back and tell me that they love it. Instead, Arkensen said it was horrible. He said that it was way too salty. It was so salty that he could not even taste the cheese and bacon. That pretty much sums up every feedback I had heard from people I know. I just cannot understand why this was made so salty. There has got to be an explanation for it because KFC knows about this. Strange. No, I have not tried it. Would I try it? Oh yeah, I will. I just like to find out for my own self how salty is salty.

So I did some digging and found an excellent ... chart from
this source.

I might have a SLICE of it. But as a sandwich? Heck no! It just makes me feel greasy and gross to look at a picture!
It's amazing. Whoever thought of this was a complete genius.
I've ordered the Double Down, but I don't order it with the "Colonel's Sauce." Try it without the sauce, and it might not be as salty.
I really want to try it xD
My sister & BF both told me the same thing about how it was super salty and not worth the $8
I would try it. It's not something meant to be eaten all the time, but once in a while you can allow yourself to eat something ridiculously unhealthy. I like chicken, cheese and bacon, so I would probably like this. I don't know. There aren't many KFC's around here, though, so I haven't gotten the opportunity to try it yet. My boyfriend has tried it, he said it was okay.
How special can two fried chicken pieces sandwiching a couple of bacon slices, cheese, and sauce (probably thousand island with a pinch of various spices) be? I'd rather just buy good old fried chicken if I wanted fried chicken (no KFC for me).
I tried the grilled double down. I actually thought it tasted pretty good aside from the grasiness and the saltiness. Not something I would be willing to pay for again though.
i really want o try this
its extremely salty, I'd rather save a bit of money and consume less sodium with kfc's value chicken sandwiches instead :D
I think it looks pretty scary. And its statistics look scary as well. Ick.
:O They probably made it incorrectly. I've never heard of a bad double down.
My boyfriened and his brother were just talking about wanting one of these last night. They love them. I've never tried them.
I've tried it and do agree that it really is salty...even for me since I have a high tolerance for salt taste-wise. It's not something I'd eat even once a year.
Meat?! The HORROR! lol
Jk, if I wasn't vegetarian, I'd give it a try.
I would try it, but I'm sure I will need to live in my local gym for 3 days to burn that off. Bring it on . . .
Hmm.. interesting chart.
I work at KFC, and I refuse to try the Double Down. I've heard it's disgustingly salty, plus the sodium content alone is the whole reason Health Canada wouldn't pass it in the first place. My advice to people is basically to leave it the eff alone, haha.
Disgusting looking
If this was at Popeye's I might try it. I'm not crazy about KFC's fried chicken (at least not in the U.S.--the KFC in Japan is delicious). I would rather have one of those bowls...I forget what they called them.
i enjoyed it when i ate it.. but for some reason when i see it now i get sick to my stomach.. like i cant even bring myself to get in close proximity of one... i know.. weird?!
That photo looks like a python head with it's tongue sticking out. The serpent of temptation? While I'm not opposed to it ehtically, it's just not my sort of thing. But it's sounds like it'd be a winner if it wasn't so salty, wonder why they made it that way.
You know that made a movie about it back in the 50's and a remake in the 80's. It's called "The blob."
Maybe it depends on where it's made because alot of people I know tried it and did not comlain about it being salty, including myself. I thought it was enjoyable, but I also didn't get bacon on it so that may have cut the salt content down, too.
As soon as I get the chance I plan on trying that.. but with the grilled chicken instead of the fried. I'm sure that makes a difference.
