Recipe: Tipsy Triple-Chocolate Shakes
Sometimes, nothing is more comforting than a nice, thick chocolate shake. Growing up, a chocolate shake was always a refreshing dessert, and chocolate milkshakes always reminded me of the simpler time of childhood.
I used to work at the Applegate Farm Ice Cream Shop when I was in high school, so I know all about making milkshakes and other delicious desserts. Milkshakes were certainly one of the more popular items on the menu for people of all ages, and I'd have to say that chocolate was definitely the most common flavor used!
Well, now that I'm finally 21, it's time for a more grown-up milkshake. This chocolate shake, courtesy of Ms. Rachel Ray (who I incidentally have a love-hate relationship with), is all the richness of a chocolate shake mixed in with some chocolate cream liqueur to help spice up your milkshake!
Ingredients:
8 shots chocolate cream liqueur, such as Bailey's
12 scoops chocolate ice cream
4 cups chocolate milk
Whipped cream, from a canister
1 dark chocolate bar
Instructions:
Working in 2 batches, combine the chocolate liqueur, ice cream, and chocolate milk in a blender and whir until it is thick but smooth. Pour the shakes into tall glasses and garnish them with whipped cream. Use a vegetable peeler to shave the dark chocolate over each. Serve them with straw and long spoons on plates to catch the drips. Makes 4 servings.
What's your favorite flavor shake?

I'm not too fond of dark chocolate, but this sounds too delicious not to try!
i actually prefer a malt over a shake... and chocolate, always chocolate! :)
jesus. 12 scoops of chocolate ice cream = 4 servings. wow. you never cease to amaze me in portion choices
Two shots apiece? Damn girl!
My favorite milkshake uses Chocolate Fudge ice cream from Baskin-Robbins.
Mmm this sounds so good.
Instead of Bailey's chocolate creme, try Godiva. It is well worth the increased price. :)
@Wait_by_Moonlight@xanga - I was just about to say that! My favorite recipie is more of a drink than a shake. Mix 3 parts milk chocolate Godiva Liquor with 1 part Effen Black Cherry Vodka, and you'll have a Black Cherry Chocolate Martini :) Try it sometime if you'd like, I just thought I'd throw it out there since we both like the main ingredient lol.
My friends and I made one for my 22nd birthday...it was kalhua, vanilla ice cream and caramellos blended up together...I didn't really measure anything out, just free poured but it was delicious all the same =) you can sub the caramellos for andies mints too.
I kinda wanna have this without the booze. It probably wouldn't be the same thing then, though.
yum !!! I wana make it this weekend
