Fond Eating Memories & Other Food I Wanted To Eat In Seattle
Before I blog about the happenings on our trip (I'm procrastinating because it'll be A LOT of writing. You know how I like details), I decided to dedicate one entirely to the food I love so much in Seattle. Behold! And watch your drooling...
Baked Escargot in butter sauce and garlic
Barolo Ristorante
My favorite of all dishes right now. It's divine. The escargots were meaty, almost as big as a smaller oyster. Each escargot was baked with a slice of garlic, drizzled with barolo.
Egg and bacon sandwich with arugula
Dahlia Bakery
It's not an Egg McMuffin. The bread was fresh and toasted. The egg was not at all greasy, even with bacon piled on top. Mmmm...it was simple, yet delicious. WHY...on Earth...can't we have that HERE?
Donuts with marscapone and jam
Dahlia Bakery
It was pretty good, doused with powdered sugar. After that egg/bacon sandwich, there was no room for these lovelies. By the time I got to it, it has lost its glory while sitting in a hot car for hours.
Clam Chowder
Pike Place Clam Chowder
Oh my gosh...it was so creamy. The clams were cooked to perfection. Potatoes, bacon, and the topper...oyster crackers...I'm holding back the drool
Spinach Frittata with Yukon Gold Potatoes
Andaluca's
It was good, but I already had egg in my skillet dish for dinner. I must admit...I overdosed on egg with two consecutive meals. Surely, it would've been good had I had it another time.
Black Cod Collar
Maneki
I suppose I didn't think of it as collar literally.
It was a bit slimy, undercooked, and flavorless. This disappoints me.
Oyster Rockafeller
Maneki
I was very underwhelmed with this dish. It tasted VERY fishy. What is this neo-Modern crap? The entire trip I had looked forward to having oysters. My friend wasn't game to go to Elliot's Oyster Bar for lunch.
So much for going out with a bang?!
Raspberry Ring
Top Pot Doughnut
I REALLY want one NOW. Who cares if we missed our flight home? I'm still dreaming of eating my donut.
Food I Want To Eat
What looks good to you?

@imgoingto____FLY_x@xanga - Not strange at all.
It was my favorite dish.
I LOVE escargot. They have it also at 13 coins by the airport and it's so yummmmyy! I also adore pike place chowder....so good.
I'm from Seattle too :)
Yummm all this food looks friggin delcious! You have good taste haha.. Escargot is one of my favorite dishes but only when it's made right... I tried cooking them once out of a can from the grocery store and it didn't work out so well haha. I may need to take a trip to Seattle someday haha.
@DoRi_dOrI@xanga - OH, you are SO lucky. What are your favorite restaurants? I might recognize from my Yelp research.

Thanks, I'm finally starting to appreciate fine dining.
My brother-in-law tried to find live escargot to buy online, but we could only find canned ones. What other ingredients did you cook with the escargot?
don't see any escargot
gimme those donuts!
the douhnuts and the escagot (which i've never tried) look really really good!!
Okay-- so I had to stop ion here cause that Escargot looks amazing. I love them de-shelled and baked in garlic butter. and I haven't had escagot in years.............. And then of course the oysters and the lobster and that soup and -- well you know what, why don't we just get together and eat EVERYTHING
I like the hotdogs and the clam chowder :DDD
@DrTryHarder@xanga - Oops...should've taken a pic of the escargot minus the sauce but instead we dug right in and didn't pause for photos.
@DenimPants@xanga - Haha...nothing makes me happier than eating good food.
Well, since I'm a vegetarian - the stuff from the bakery lol!
*DROOLS*

FFUUUUU dat clam chowder and strawberry donut.

no mention of Seattle is complete without mentioning Thai food, pho, smoked salmon and dick's drive-in!
@thewindycity@xanga - My bad. I just went to Yelp and searched seafood in Seattle because I really wanted to OD on it before I got back. Plus, I'm from the San Francisco area, so we get plenty of good Thai and pho here.
@ScorpioInBlack@xanga - no need for apologies, i just wanted people to know about some of the other foods loved by locals...
like cream cheese dogs after a night out... mmm
@thewindycity@xanga - You, mister, have very eclectic taste. Cream cheese dog, eh?
@ScorpioInBlack@xanga - it sounds odd, but doesn't taste so unfamiliar when you try it. Cream Cheese Hotdogs are a Seattle tradition after you go clubbing or when you leave the bar and want something to eat...
@thewindycity@xanga - We have cream cheese hot dogs on the east coast too. Last summer I overloaded on them by going to the local stand a lot. There they top them with roasted red peppers, so good! I moved further north though and now can't find them, but making them at home tastes just as good!
