Eating out in Seoul - Your Kimchi Litmus Test

As promised, my Korean food adventure in Seoul! ;) While I was there, I completely fell in love with the little Korean eateries. Their incredibly yummy food, unbelievably cheap prices and uber friendly owners just felt like a combination too good to be true! In retrospect, my 4D3N trip in the capital city of South Korea could actually double up as a spice marathon as almost every dish came with something red or a redish looking side dish. It was literally a paradise for spice fixes! ;)
I've uploaded some of the food photos here and this post shall be a litmus test to find out how hearty your appetite for fiery red Korean spices is! Are you ready for some serious kimchi action? Here we go!To ensure I could fully indulge in my kimchi feasts, I went light on breakfasts, with nothing more than just a yogurt and some fruits each morning.
Bim bim bap - Korean mixed rice.

Bim Bim Bap Claypot version with kimchi soup on the side.

Our favorite eatery next to Changdeok Palace - We loved the food in this little eatery so much that we ate there twice in a row!

The "work desk" where the chef prepared the Gim Bap (steamed rice + ingredients rolled in seaweed).

The menu. Can someone press the Help button please?!

Kimchi pork rice.

Mandu - Korean dumplings with kimchi in it. Addictively good!!!!

Kimchi Fried Rice for the hardcore kimchi fans. Anyone up for it?
So, how hearty is your kimchi appetite, on a scale of 1 to 10?

I'm definitely a 9 or a 10!! I love kimchi, in every variation!! We have a place here in Arizona that makes kimchi rice hot enough to make me sweat! Awesome!
Yum, I love making my own kimchi. So versatile. =)
9, I love kimchi:)
I haven't had a chance to taste a wide variety of kimchi... but even so, I'd say I'm somewhere between a 7 and a 8. I think I could easily be a 10 if I had more opportunities. ^o^
Everything looks amaaaaaaazing. =D
I like kimchi, but I love kimbap!
No numbers, just YES.
Augh kimchi.. I used to eat them with pancakes. I envy you so much right now </3
I give it an 11.
I hate kimchi, actually. But, bibimbap is an instant romance. And bulgogi. And gaalbi. Mmm...
I'm Korean but I never really liked Kimchi as much as I should lol
Like I never eat it plain w/ just rice. I need to eat it in a stew or something.
5.
I don't think I've ever had kimchi, but all of those photos look really good.
i like my kimichi extra spicy and i like it with Everything.
10.
Holy crap. This was awesome. I love Kimchi! Im probably only a 5 on the scale though, because i can't handle it if its too spicy. =[
I love Yakult!
10! :)
I love being Korean ^__^ Haha.
"Bim bim bap" -> "Bi Bim Bap"
You wrote "bim bim bap" twice in a row, so I'm assuming it was no typo. It's BI bim bap.
Hey doll, i really like food too, especially KOREAN food XD!!!!!! Add me xoxo
O~ kimchi. The only kimchi I ate was spicy; but it was awesome with this one beef dish I ate at camp in Japan once. Overall, it is pretty tasty. I'm intrigued by the kimchi dumplings.
Like someone already said, it's bi bim bap haha. I'm 100% Korean and I actually don't eat kimchi very often. I'm very picky about my kimchi and they have to be kind of ...ripe and sour, but it' definitely a good and safe sour haha. It's pronounced "sheen kimchi" in korean. Hope you had fun :)
This post makes me mis Korea. The food there is so good. My favorite version of Kimchi is the Kimchi dumpling soup :3
I could really use some kimpap. It's so cheap and delicious. And some bimbimpap. mmm...Korean food<3
korean food kind of sucks. there are some good dishes, but for the most part, it seems that there's an over-reliance on red peppers to make flavor in dishes.
im in korea right now! :D
lovingggggggggggggg it.I only like radish kimchi. I can't appreciate the chinese cabbage kimchi.
Wow.. that's soo cheap. :) Oh man..
wow i am so hungry reading this post, i love korean food
