  • Hershey Park: The Amazing Chocolate Theme Park

I had the pleasure of taking a fine trip to Hershey, PA last week for my sixth trip to Hershey Park. Hershey Park is not like any other theme park simply because it is themed around the Hershey chocolate company. So by that respect, it's far superior. Move over, Six Flags.

Hershey Park is special because although it has the theme park aspect of it, (Rides, overly priced games, etc) it has another aspect that makes it unique. Chocolate World! Doesn't that sound like fun? I mean let's be honest, who wouldn't want to visit a place called Chocolate World? Well I certainly would, hence why I visit Chocolate World every time I go to Hershey Park. There is a tour that tells you about the history of chocolate and the Hershey company. And there are singing cows on the chocolate tour, which make it that much better.
And here's the best part. At the end they give you a free (that's right, something free at a theme park) piece of chocolate. And the best part is that it isn't one of those pieces of chocolate you buy at the local gas station that has been sitting there for two weeks, rotting on the shelf. It's fresh and straight from the factory, so you can definitely taste the difference.

Another great part of Chocolate World is the giant gift shop. And I know what some of you are thinking. "Why would you spend all of that money to buy chocolate that you can just buy at the grocery store?" Well, I'll tell you why. It's because A) Like the complimentary chocolate you get after the Chocolate World Tour, it's so much fresher and better tasting than buying it anywhere else and B) Come on, you just HAVE to buy a bar of chocolate from Hershey Park.
    that's me!!

Another great part of Hershey Park are the suited characters who squire about the park. Yes, there's Micky and Minnie Mouse but at Hershey Park you can hug a giant Milk Duds! Or take a picture with a giant Hershey Kiss. And they're nice. I've always had a thing about giant characters who walk around theme parks, they always seem so friendly. So of course when I stumbled upon them at Hershey Park I always make an effort to take a picture with them. I hope that doesn't make me a loser.
Have you ever been to Hershey Park? What's your favorite part of going there?
