Question of the Day: New York and Boston Recommendations!
I'm going to be in New York and Boston next week, and I was wondering if there are any places you would recommend for me to eat at? (I definitely want to try Magnolia Bakery and Grimaldi's Pizzeria (or Lombardi's), while in NY. Hopefully they're as good as they're hyped up to be!)
Any other suggestions?

Mike's Pastry In the North End in Boston
Gourmet Dumpling House in Chinatown (Boston)
Windsor Dim Sum (Chinatown)
Dick's Restaurant in Fanueil Hall (if you want the experience of someone yelling at you and being rude at you...part of the fun)
You need to try a bread bowl (clam chowder in a bread bowl)
There are a lot of cheap good places in Boston, but you seriously need to look and not be afraid of the sketchy facade of the restaurant.
What kind of food are you interested in trying in NYC ?
@totally_izzahX0@xanga - Ooo Is Dick's where the waitresses yell at you because they've been doing it since like the 17th century?
Mike's City Diner (South Boston) - great American breakfast diner
China Pearl (Boston) - dim sum (like, somewhat legit dim sum)Enjoy your visit to the Hub of the Universe!
No restaurant recommendations come to mind at the moment, but if you wander around Boston's North End, there are some tasty bakeries there if you'd like a snack :) Hope you enjoy your time in Boston!
mike's pastry definitely. fire and ice is a really really cool restaurant in boston too.
@Konrado@xanga - Umm..pretty much anything. Maybe some good Italian, Mexican, or Chinese food? Or dessert places?

In NYC, go to Shake Shack for a great burger and Magnolia Bakery for a delicious cupcake!
Definitely try Pinocchio's in Cambridge, right next to Boston. Their Sicilian pizza is to die for.
@xmzchoix@xanga - I'd say go to Chicago instead for those 3, well especially for the Mexican because here it is just weak.
There are however great delis here as well as great pizza and the best Pho I ever had.
My NYC Favorites:
Pomodoro Ristorante Pizza (51 Spring St btw and Lafayette) - get the vodka sauce with mozzarella pizzaPrune (54 E 1st St btw 2nd and 3rd Sts) - my friend and I shared sweetbreads, bone marrow, a side and a dessert. They make fabulous drinks and are very friendly and helpful. We had a lot of firsts that nightMy favorite cheesecake is from Juniors and they have multiple locations. Some things I learned - Yelp.com is your best friend when it comes to cities. There are a ton of restaurants in Brooklyn's Park Slope area that are delicious (I lived near here for 3 months last year). If you have never had vodka sauce, you're missing out. Also, if you're staying in a hotel, ask the concierge for some suffestions

a list of my favorites in NY :)
@macaroni28@xanga - yup china pearl is good.
there's also a china pearl in quincy. if you wanna try chicken and waffles, there's a place called the hen house wings n waffles. it's delicious. if you have time, come up to the north shore area and try the gingerbread house in wakefield. :] the muffins comes in different flavors and come are fruit stuffed.
in chinatown boston, there's a restaurant called penang - malaysian and thai food fusion.
New York, my loooveeee.
Favorite restaurant by far is Yaffa Cafe on St Marks street. you'll find all the NYU hipsters running around down there, too. It's open 24 hours and the pasta is incredible. and they have all types of food, too. best thing about this place is the decor! google itIn Union Square, Max Brenner is the ultimate dessert place for chocolate. (fondu, cake, ice cream, whatever). union square is also an awesome place to hang out and walk around. lots of crazy people screaming poetry, playing chess, skate boarding, break dancing, etc.Balthazar, where I work in SoHo, is amazing for breakfast or any meal as long as you have money. :P also great shopping area.Mamoun's falafel is the best falafel place in the city. there are a few locations. Kati Roll is also good for cheap, indian style spicey sandwiches.
Uhhh jaaa.
dude, skip magnolia bakery. it's overhyped and ridiculous. their cupcakes taste like ones you can buy packaged from a supermarket.
down by essex i go to katz deli for their pastrami sandwiches... so good.
