  • A Foodie's Delight

This is what a self-avowed foodie requests for her birthday: Trader Joe's and Byerly's gift cards. (Byerly's is a high end grocery store around here.)

This is what the same person gets with her TJ's gift card:

    • cinnamon almonds (oh. my. gosh. so good!)
    • coconut milk
    • lemon pepper pappardelle pasta
    • chocolate pudding (okay this might be a little blase', but whatevs...I love chocolate pudding)
    • salt and pepper chips
    • sweet potato chips
    • jasmine rice
    • red wine vinegar
    • already consumed with delight before this picture was taken: three different kinds of greek yogurt (one for each of us)

These are all "splurgy" items that I could never bring myself to buy with my carefully doled out (albeit generous, thank you God) grocery budget. Okay, except maybe for the rice, coconut milk and vinegar - I buy those on a regular basis anyway, but happened to be out.

We used the Byerly's gift card for dinner last night - I got Big Bowl thai coconut curry and Kyle got a giant salad from their exquisite salad bar. I also picked up a fresh herb foccacia roll and some crazy good Danish cheese - sort of like gouda, but milder. YUM.

    Happy sigh.

    I love food!

What are your favorite grocery splurges?

    • About Me: I love Jesus with all my heart and seek to please Him and love the people He brings into my life. I'm VERY happily married to Kyle - my best friend and first love. We have one chubby little boy, Jackson, who was born in 2009. I never knew I would LOVE being a mom so much or that I could love someone like i love Jack. Sunshine, mountains, the beach, baking/cooking, photography and keeping in touch with friends are a few of my favorite things. New experiences and adventure find me on their own and I've learned over the years that the journey IS the reward. I want to live life to the fullest and not settle for the easy road.
