Recipe: Skinny Margarita with Agave Nectar

This is a really great recipe for all those Margarita lovers out there who want the taste but without all the calories, and sugar. The best part is is that you won't even know it's "skinny". So grab your salt rimmed margarita glasses, slap on a lime, and put on your sombrero. Salud!
You'll Need:
- 1/2 ounce agave nectar
- 1/2 ounce water
- 2 ounces tequila made from 100 percent agave, such as Patron, Don Julio, and Corazón
- 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
Directions:
- In glass or small bowl, combine agave nectar and water, and stir until combined.
- In cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine tequila, agave nectar mixture, and lime juice.
- Shake, then strain into glass filled with fresh ice.
- *You can put this mixture into a blender with more ice for a frozen margarita.

i'm totally going to remember this for my 21st birthday!
oOoooOOooo...thanks!
Yeah great ... except you obviously haven't studied up on agave nectar, because agave nectar is sugar. It's just from a different source. Sometimes, it has more fructose in it, and they say that's better for you, but it isn't. Any criticism of high-fructose corn syrup can be made of agave nectar.
What really makes this margarita skinny? Nothing ... it's just a cocktail ...
Drink up
You're right! It does have sugar, but its less than if you were to use regular pre-made margarita mix. They also have "light" versions of Agave nectar which contain almost no sugar or calories.
We love any gathering and every time we have a party there's always a margarita , and I want the margarita glasses to be unique.

HFCS wreaks havoc on the body. Anything with "sugar" listed is most likely GMO beet sugar. Agave nectar is neither. Yes, it's a sugar, but not as dangerous as the other two.
I'm going to enjoy one of these with dinner tonight. (maybe two)
