Recipe: Bubbly Summer Sangria

One of my favorite things to drink during the summertime is Sangria. There is something about pairing fresh summer fruit with wine that makes it a great fresh summer drink alternative. The best part is that you choose the wine, you choose the fruit, and it tastes great so price and personal preferences are up to you! You may even get the added benefit of antioxidants and vitamins from the fresh fruit (but don't quote me on that). My best friend came up with the idea of adding Sprite or Diet Sprite (for those watching calories) to the mix to add a little pizazz!
Recipe:
Choose bottle of Red Wine (any type is fine. We usually go for a cheap Merlot)
1 Liter Sprite or any Lemon-Lime Soda
Fresh Fruit (Strawberries, Oranges, Blueberries, Apples, Pears, Lemons, Limes, Raspberries)
*any fruit combination will do but Strawberry, Blueberry, and Raspberry is my favorite!
In one big pitcher mix 1/2 wine, 1/2 Sprite and add fruits.
Stir and place in fridge until ready to serve!
That's it. You and your friends will love it. Enjoy!

Cool! I'm going to make it soon.
Yum! I need to try to make this... I have everything but fresh fruit. :)
hm. interesting.
Yum:)
looks refreshingly yummy!!
Quick question, should we cut the larger fruits into slices (like the strawberries)? Or can we just throw them in the way they are? (Planning on a little summer party next month, and I really want to share this with the friends!)
@lilxwunxnxluv@xanga - Its all up to you. I would advise cutting citrusy fruits into slices (shown in the photo, wedges look great also) but depending on how big the strawberries are I would probably slice them as well. It would be a bit awkward sipping on your drink with a big strawberry hanging out in it! I hope you enjoy this at your party.
