Looking to add a simple touch of Japanese cooking to your week? Whip up the ever-popular Yoshinoya beef bowl right in the comfort of your own home! This hearty and basic donburi dish may just be what you need to hit the spot. ;)
Ingredients:
- 200g beef
- 1 onion
- 1 1/3 cup dashi soup (approx. 1/2 tsp dashi powder + water)
- 5 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp mirin
- 2 tbsps sugar
- 1 tsp sake
- benishoga (red ginger) for topping

Directions:
1. Put dashi, soysauce, sugar, mirin, and sake in a pan.
2. Add onion slices in the pan and simmer for a few minutes.
3. Add beef slices in the pan.
4. Simmer for a few minutes till they're fully cooked.
5. Serve hot steamed rice in a deep rice bowl.
6. Place the beef on top of the rice and add some benishoga.
7. (Optional) I added some carrots on the side to balance off the meat!
Itadakimasu!

MMMMMMMM looks like a great meal
Please feed me. I'll do your bidding if you do.
You know, I think I've eaten that before, and thought it was pretty good... and I don't eat beef like that. I don't hate beef, but it has to be done really nicely for me to like it.
mmm Yum[:
i dont even like yoshinoya except for the sweet ginger :p but great recipe. might try it this weekend.
Aaah, this looks yummy :]
This looks very tasty, but minus the onion. Will have to make some. ^^
