Extreme Dining: Dining in the Sky
Would you dine 180 ft above the ground? How about for $290? The latest craze amongst the dining elite is not just to live it up, but to be up, literally looking down over the city. The new trend is happening in Las Vegas. Guests are strapped into their seats like a roller coaster. Even the bartender and servers are strapped in. As the platform you dine on lifts over the Vegas strip. The dinner "ride" holds 22 people. But what is on the menu? I mean, is the food any good?

Dinner in the Sky Paris, France
For a little under $300 price tag, it better be good....and it is. You get your choice of filet mignon medallions with Bordelaise sauce sautéed in mushrooms or the baked chicken breast stuffed with Prosciutto. There is a vegetarian option upon request. To get your money's worth there is a VIP cocktail reception, hors d'oeuvres before you take off on your dinner and of course plenty of Champagne.

This truly looks like an amazing experience but there is one major draw back. The flight time is only 22 min. Which mean eat fast and take pictures fast and don't waste much time socializing. But if you are afraid of heights or just terrorized of a giant crane rotating you around in the air with nothing between you and the cold cold concrete, then maybe 22 min. is long enough.
The company has expanded from just dinner, to entire weddings and business meetings. Check out this crazy wedding in the air. The bride and groom bungee jumped off the platform!

Dine in the sky is coming to New York City very soon. Do you want to try it?

That is so incredibly terrifying, and a HUGE waste of money.
It's been here in Florida for quite a while.
Scary.
Cant wait to try. But 300 bucks for 22 mins?
umm. no thank you. I wouldn't even be able to eat.
the thought sounds appealing, but at the same time, scary. i doubt i'll be able to stomach whatever i've eaten, much less have any appetite.
I definitely want to try this. :D
That's terrifying. I'll stick to revolving restaurants on the top of hotels--cheaper (in general, and much less scary!).
haha scary but what an expereince!
WOW, this looks fun, but I wouldn't try -
I agree with @Erika_Steele@xanga, no thanks!
you know fatties would break that bungee cord.
@Paul_Partisan@xanga - I'm sure they have a weight limit.
I'd probably barf that 100$ filet mignon right back up again.
What is the weight limit? I'd be scared to go depending on the weights of the guests going up to dine.
I don't see the thrill in eating in a hurry while dangling from a crane at high altitude. It's seems so unromantic unless I've missed the boat. Maybe spending huge amounts of cash needlessly is now considered to be romantic.
That's dumb. I mean, I really like eating, and it would be cool to float over the city...but not at the same time. I would be way too stressed out.
I just got weak in the knees.
@Paul_Partisan@xanga - Paul, apparently you have not heard of the rules of ireallylikefood. You are not allowed to call anyone fattie. Instead, use the preferred "thin challenged."
I'd love to do that! I'm sure they serve kind of canape/dinner party food as opposed to a meal, and you pay for the unique experience, you don't pay for a posh meal.
I would looove to try it. But $300? I dunno. That money could be much better spent elsewhere, I feel.
I would love to eat a meal 180 feet above the ground but not for $300. I do not enjoy rushing through my meal and would probably say no to this.
It doesnt seem like something I would do, but does seem interesting.
This is so cool! But I am very very very scared of heights. -_-
I'd still wanna go to NYC.
Scary..I don't think I'd want to do this. It looks fun but I don't think I'd feel like eating if I'm super high up in the air lol.
I would totally do it and the price seems fair considering everything that goes into it.
