  • Daily Q: Which Curry Do You Like Best?

As I'm a lover of all things stewish, curry is one of my favorite things to eat.  I love the idea of slopping things up with bread or rice or anything starchy to get the last drop of tastiness.  Besides, curry is incredibly forgiving to cook -- you can pretty much throw anything you want in, add in copious amounts of garlic, onion, and all sorts of spices, and just let it melt together into the perfect pot of goodness.

My first encounter with curry was actually Japanese chicken katsu cury.  There's something so perfect with the melding of the crunch of panko breading with the juicy chicken meat and the smooth and slightly sweet Japanese curry sauce.

Then I met Thai curries, with the genius addition of coconut milk and Thai chillis, blended together to form the best combination of the sweet and spicy.

But I really fell in love when I encountered Indian curries, with their wide use of so many different spices that create an amazing depth of flavor.  There's never a concern of something being underseasoned when you eat curry.  More often than not, you're so overwhelmed by the layers created by the multitude of spices used that you're just swimming in some sort of food nirvana.

Are you a fan of curry?  What's your favorite?  Japanese?  Thai?  Or Indian?  And which curry specifically?  (Mine is either Lamb Vindaloo or Chicken Tikka Masala.)
