  • 10 Fun Food Facts About Me

    I need a break from homework. So I'll talk about...FOOD!


    I love food. It's more than yummy - you can use it for creative expression, too. Professional chefs make some of the coolest dishes. Plus I'm more inclined to eat something, even if I don't like it that much, when it looks cute on the plate.

    It also gives us nutrients, which is awesome. I eat so much fruit that I'm surprised I don't have a vitamin C intoxication (if you can even have that - can you?). Because of that I only get a cold twice a year, one in the spring and one in the fall.

    So since I just read my philosophy textbook about ethical egoism and utilitarianism and I drank a coffee shake and feel completely refreshed, excited, and ready to change the world, I'll write 10 random things about me and food. Similar to the 25 things, but who has time to read 25 these days?


    10 Fun Food Facts about McKenna/everlastte:

    1.  I eat at least two apples a day. I ate them when my liver was infected earlier this year, and I've been doing it since. They're not even my favorite fruit (kiwis and watermelon are), but they're well-priced year-round and an easy snack to make - just cut them up and there you go.

    2.  My diet pretty much consists of fruit and carbs (whole grains/pasta) as the main dishes. I don't like meat that much.

    3.  My favorite foods for protein are cheese, yogurt, and nuts.

    4.  I hate milk. When I was a little girl and wouldn't drink it, my parents gave me either chocolate milk, or watered down juice. Later I didn't like chocolate milk, so they gave me strawberry, which I later didn't like. My parents and doctor worry I don't get enough calcium, so I make up for that with dairy products.

    5.  My favorite drink is a caramel frappuccino (or something similar). I know - soooo bad! Probably one of the worst beverages out there next to soda. When I get them, I usually ask for it light or without whipped cream - that's where most of the fat calories is!

    6.  Contrary to popular belief, I don't consume that much caffeine. I don't have more than two coffee drinks a week, if even that. I'm very sensitive to caffeine, and also hypoglycemic, so I get a huge sugar rush and get very hyper, then crash unless I'm moving around or eating food. I only get coffee drinks if I'm working or need a little energy boost (like right now with my philosophy homework).

    7.  My favorite fast food restaurant is Taco Bell. I love their nachos and cheese, even though it's all processed and I doubt there's any real cheese in it. But it's soooo good. I don't eat fast food that much, though, because it gives me a stomachache.

    8.  Italian and Mexican food is the best. I love pasta dishes, and spicy food is awesome. The hotter, the better!

    9.  I don't eat enough vegetables. I don't really like them that much. But I do like carrots with a low-fat dip.

    10.  After my health class this past semester, I'm trying to eat more natural foods and less processed stuff. I've eaten a lot more whole grains instead of white bread, and I try to drink water as often as I can.


    I'll be getting back to utilitarianism now...do any of you have any fun food facts? (Wow I'm cheesy). Or any fun and healthy recipes? :]
