  • Daily Q: How Do You Like Your Steak?


    I love meat.  And there's no better way to experience (yes, it is an experience!!) meat than to have a good old-fashioned steak, aged & dry-rubbed, grilled to perfection with the char-lines, and rested to retain all the juices.  Mmm... all that flavor and meaty goodness :D

    My mother, bless her, would only eat steak that was well-done.  She hated the sight of blood or any pink juices running on her plate and even if the meat was slightly pink inside, she'd send it back for some more heat.  I could never understand it.  Even if the meat was the perfect cut of steak, it'd always turn out to be tough and chewy.  Ugh, no thanks.

    I'm a medium-rare girl who likes the explosion of juices when you cut into a piece of a good steak.  The pink (or even red) meat triggers something in my brain that makes me salivate like a doggy.  Man, just writing and thinking about this makes me hungry, and I don't even need a bell to ring.  Darn you, Pavlov.

    So what about you?  How do you like your steak?  Or does it depend on the cut of steak for you?
