I love meat. And there's no better way to experience (yes, it is an experience!!) meat than to have a good old-fashioned steak, aged & dry-rubbed, grilled to perfection with the char-lines, and rested to retain all the juices. Mmm... all that flavor and meaty goodness :D
My mother, bless her, would only eat steak that was well-done. She hated the sight of blood or any pink juices running on her plate and even if the meat was slightly pink inside, she'd send it back for some more heat. I could never understand it. Even if the meat was the perfect cut of steak, it'd always turn out to be tough and chewy. Ugh, no thanks.
I'm a medium-rare girl who likes the explosion of juices when you cut into a piece of a good steak. The pink (or even red) meat triggers something in my brain that makes me salivate like a doggy. Man, just writing and thinking about this makes me hungry, and I don't even need a bell to ring. Darn you, Pavlov.
So what about you? How do you like your steak? Or does it depend on the cut of steak for you?

I like my Steak Medium rare. I hate when people "kill" their steaks.
Having worked in a diner and being food-safety certified, I will only eat my meat well-done. I've gotten food poisoning way too many times from undercooked meat and chicken sitting in their bodily juices.

I like mine well done. A little pink is okay, but as long as it's a little. My dad likes his a little red... gross!
When I know who's cooking it, med-rare to rare. When I don't know, I stick with medium. I trust cooks, but not allll of them. :)
i like mine still attached to the cows...and walking around...living out their natural lives. although these factory farm animals hardly have anything that even remotely resembles a "natural life".

You mom sounds like mine, Grace. And when I describe the way I prefer my steak, they usually say that I want it medium rare -- red, but heated all the way through.

Cooked. I like my steak cooked lol. I prefer it well-done, I've been fed medium rare before and the sight of the blood actually made me nauseus. So Well-done, not even a little pink.

Anywhere in the medium range. At home I prefer it a little less done (more of a medium-rare); when out I prefer it a little more done (usually medium, occasionally medium-well, although it usually depends on the cut of meat).
