Restaurants for Mother's Day Celebration Idea
This is a guest post from LadyIronChef.
I have no idea how Mother’s Day actually came about, but I’m thankful that we have a day dedicated specially to all our beloved mothers. Actually, everyday can be Mother’s day so long everyone in the family is happy together, but you know what? Mother’s day is another perfect excuse for us to go out and have a good feast and indulge a little.
It can be quite a headache when it comes to buying presents or thinking of ideas for Mother’s day celebration. Mothers being mothers, will always say: “It’s okay, save the money and don’t splurge on presents.”
My mom is a great woman, she will always save the best for my brother and me. I will be nothing without her. If you have seen my previous post, you’d know that my mom loves chili crabs, so we are probably going to continue our hunt for the best chili crab in Singapore.
Here’s some ideas on where to bring your dear mother for Mother’s Day celebration:
Mother’s Day Brunch
If you are thinking of having brunch on Mother’s day, check out the new branch of Epicurious at Rail Mall. I went there a couple of weeks ago (yet to blog about it): the same good old brunch menu – now available in the West! Our mother always make breakfast for all of us, so on this coming Mother’s day, why not bring your mom out for a good breakfast?

Best Chili Crab in Singapore
No Signboard Seafood at Geylang is my family’s favorite restaurant when it comes to chili crabs in Singapore. Otherwise, I want to try Roland restaurant, the creator of chili crabs back in the 1950s.

I have yet to decide on where to go for mother’s day. Other than Chili crabs, the other option will definitely be buffet. My mother doesn’t have a big appetite, so it’s probably not worthwhile to bring her for an all you can eat buffet. But somehow, she absolutely love buffets. The idea of having so many food to choose from, is very appealing. If we are having buffet, I’d choose from my list of buffet places in Singapore and bring her to either:
Melt – The world cafe
5 Raffles Avenue
4F The Oriental Singapore

Sizzling Barbecue Buffet dinner Thursday – Saturday (S$78 per person)
Sunday Brunch ($98 per person)Triple Three

Level 5 Meritus Mandarin Singapore

Sunday Brunch $90++
Fri – Sun Buffet Dinner $76++
Mon – Thu Buffet Dinner $72++* * *
So where will you be celebrating Mother’s day this year? Remember to make reservations! If you are thinking of making a present for your mom, drop by Dweam.com to learn more on how to DIY chocolate flower bouquet.

oh, i thought these were going to be restaurants in the united states....
This mom hates waste and crowds. Both occurs when eating out on Mom's Day. Instead, I turn the cooking duty over to my husband, who isn't a half bad cook! Actually, he could have been a great chef if he didn't like what was involved in learning the trade. He's going to make me Shrimp Scampi with sauteed mushrooms and steamed asperagus. He'll feed the whole family for what one entree at Red Lobster would have cost! All that, and no crowds!
@cornyonacob@xanga - haha, that is what i thought too.
