If you are looking for something delicious to bring to a party, look no further! Altano 2007 is a very tasty red wine for only $12.
My husband is part of the graduate school at Columbia University. A local wine store, Vino Fino, decided to host a cheap wine tasting for the graduate school students. They introduced us to a bunch of wines that didn't cost much (after all, college is pretty costly!) but still taste great.
We tried this one wine that was so good, we just bought a bottle of it for ourselves. Altano is in Portugal, a region from which I rarely taste wine. The particular wine we had was Altano Douro Tinto 2007. It is a red wine with hints of berry and spicy. I have that pucker-y feeling in my mouth, which means it has a decent amount of tannins.
Hurry up to the store and pick up two bottles - one to drink now and the other to bring to the next party you attend!
Are there any particular items you usually bring to parties that are a hit?

It depends on the kind of party. Everyone loves my lasagna though.
Usually I bring myself.
@Cliffycliffz@xanga - haha!! I repiled w/ the same thing
It depends on the type of party...sometimes I'll bring liquor or beer if I am running late and didn't plan for it. Barbecue/other outdoorsy parties, cookies or rice krispy treats. Dinner parties call for cakes/pies. Potluck, I'll see what the host is serving and try to come up with something that will go well with it. I don't like going empty handed, it's just not how I was raised.
@watermoolen@xanga - hell yeah girl! all that's needed lol...
potato salad and pies, both home made. mmmm
