When I am running a little low on time or am just plain lazy and don't feel like slaving over the stove for a long time, I grab a few key ingredients and make my go-to meal.
All I need is some pasta, spinach and chicken, three ingredients that are always in my kitchen, and create a little stir fry. It only take about 20 minutes to create and it tastes good.
There are some eaters who tend to grab frozen meals as their go-to. I'll buy a couple of them and stick them in the freezer for my husband, who doesn't even know what a frying pan is. If I am not home, he goes for his Amy's Kitchen Mac and Cheese or Margherita Pizza and in a matter of five minutes, he is chomping down on his dinner.
Other individuals create elaborate dinners and freeze them so that their go-to meals are a little fancier but only take a few minutes to defrost in the microwave. A mother of a friend of mine would spend her entire Sunday afternoon creating several dishes, freeze them and defrost a different one every day for my friend and his brother.
And, of course, there are some people who go to fast food restaurants for their go-to foods. Although this is not often the healthiest choice but there are plenty of fast and virtually painless-to-prepare (for the eater) options.
Do you have a go-to meal you always turn to?

EGGS! You can't go wrong with eggs.
@Meowmeowkimmaee@xanga - YES! My thoughts exactly.
If I'm super busy, I'll just make a few soft boiled eggs and that's it. If I have somewhat more time, then it's steamed white rice, a fried egg, and spinach/garlic stirfry (if it's called stirfry, that is. I never can keep my cooking terms straight).
Though not really a meal, I'd just as soon grab a fruit or veggie to chomp.
I really love celery sticks with almond butter, or cherry tomatoes, or hashbrowns for quick sustenance.
I'll usually make a quick turkey and avocado sandwich or grab some fruits.
grab some leftover rice and chicken, smoosh around with some soy sauce... :P
Noodles. Be they spaghetti, fettuccine, macaroni. Not including boiling time, it's quick and easy. Throw in some butter or alfredo with whatever else I may have at hand in the cupboard, grate some cheese over the top and voila. Simple and satisfying.
If not there, then the tried and ever true grilled cheese. Comfort Food 101.
Brown rice, some veggies, and a legume. Oh, and of course some herbs and spices!
Fish sauce and plain jasmine rice.
If I'm really in a hurry and feeling lazy... Peanut butter and jelly. If I actually feel like eating a meal, a chicken/veggie stir fry can be done in about fifteen or twenty minutes, and can feed the whole family. Also tuna/pasta salads can be made in about the same amount of time.
Sammiches.
My go to meal.......

Sorry, but subway sandwiches
quesadillas
I like to make breakfast things as a go-to meal. They're pretty similar and are wonderful every time of the day. =] I might make pancakes or eggs with veggie bacon, or I may even just go for a bowl of cereal.
scrambled or sunny side up eggs with toast

Easy mac. Welcome to college.
angel hair pasta with olive oil, garlic, onions, broccoli, and parmesan sprinkled on top.
Pasta (any kind) with olive oil, cheeses, salt and pepper. Maybe some fresh herbs if there are any.
cheesy tuna and noodles (kraft mac and cheese with a can of undrained water-packed tuna thrown in)
freshly sliced apples with caramel. and a glass of steaming hot soy/almond milk. :D very easy to make, i'm definitely not much of a cook....
that pic looks pretty good. um...a banana?
taco bell, grilled cheese, frozen pizza.
tuna and pita.
cottage cheese.
carrots and ranch.
Depends on my mood. Sometimes it's fried rice, sometimes it's a sandwich, sometimes it's soup, sometimes it's just an apple and cheese. Like, a stick of mozzarella, take a bite of apple, take a bite of mozzarella. I also have a tendency, though, to make food at work (I work at Taco Bell) and bring it home if I work late.
