Has anyone seen the movie
Alice in Wonderland yet? I haven't, but I've heard good things. And since I'm always looking for cute party ideas, I figured that a Mad Hatter tea party would be a great idea for spring. You can even have it outside, now that we've got some good weather here for the week! So go on, dust off the good china, take your nice picnic blanket out of storage, and have a tea party fit for a (red) queen.
To drink: Why, tea of course! To be really proper, I would use English Breakfast with a splash of milk and a sugar cube. Some fresh lemonade would also be ideal on a hot day.
To eat: Visit this
Web site for a TON of yummy pastry recipes, as well as some directions for sandwiches (I would make the light and refreshing cucumber-and-cream-cheese combo).
To play: Cards! A spirited game of gin rummy is good to keep the party going.
Have you seen Alice in Wonderland? What did you think? What would you serve at your tea party?

i haven't seen the new version, but i've always absolutely loved the original. what an awesome idea! XD
little cakes that say "eat me" on them
I LOVE TEA PARTIES!
FUCK YES! Movie was sooo good<3
I concur, something with the 'eat me' (vegan cupcakes?) 'drink me' (punch or wine hah?) theme :) plus the tea of course... I think I'd make avocado/sprout/hummus sandwiches & peanutbutter/honey/banana... cleaner/less greasy than other vegan sandwiches like say eggplant
SO GOOD, waited since spring 2008 for it.
I would serve bubble tea and noodles and fried chicken and watermelon. haha!:)
About 5 years back my friends and I had a Mad Hatter Tea Party. We used several different tea sets and painted clear plates different patterns. We ate tea sandwiches and scones! Halfway through our tea party we needed a clean cup and everyone had to move down! It was so much fun!
Side note: The new movie was absolutely fantastic!!
I haven't seen the movie yet, but I am hoping to see it this weekend. Alice in Wonderland was my favorite childhood movie. I think I'll do this for my next birthday.. or unbirthday :)
Cucumber sandwiches, raspberry jelly roll, and green tea.
i love cucumber sandwiches, but they're like air. doesn't fill you up at all.
I make it a tradition now to celebrate New Years with my sister's tea set. Of course we don't drink it--it's more of Rum & Coke. But now that you mentioned it, I should have a normal tea party. Gives me a chance to bake.
I love this idea. When I get moved into the house this would be a great backyard activity!
I saw in at midnight when it came out. :) But I did wait 6 years for it to come out. But I want to have a tea party so bad right now.... I'm just waiting for better weather. :/
I thought the movie was horrible ... the original is MUCH better
But, a tea party does sound lovely :)
Finger sandwiches and tea
i saw it and i loved it :) i've been waiting for a long time for it too! i think since early 2008
Which version? There have been more than a few cinematic versions of Alice. I'm guessing that you are referring to the latest version, with Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, et al, but I would like to be certain.
The movie wasn't what I expected but it was still really good. Also, my friends and I already had our tea party. I got to be the march hair. It was nuts.
That sounds like a lovely idea.
Paper Lanterns for decoration??? :]
I haven't seen it but that's what I was already planning on doing for my birthday this year
TEA PARTIES ROCK!! will love to do it any time of the year - spring or not. thanks for the website! :)
it's not a mad hatter tea party without cocaine
This is a brilliant idea! Me and my friends are going to see Alice in Wonderland during spring break xDD I'm gonna suggest we do this afterwards
This is going to be so much fun! Thanks for posting this! :D You're awesome!
Your parties sound so good to attend! I saw Alice the other day (big smile) She was my most favorite disney un-princess ever. I have a sleeve started of Tim's work and she is there along with someother characters in the movie and many more of this style!
My daughter loves Alice in Wonderland, so for her 16th birthday party we threw a Alice tea party! Everyone dressed up as a character from the movie, with my daughter as Alice naturally! It was lots of fun! :)
alice in wonderland is a must see!
