I suppose many people are solely wine or solely beer people, but why not be both? As of right now I define myself as a beer person definitely. I like to look at myself as more of a beer connoisseur. I love beer, I love to try new flavors, types, and brands, you name it and I will try it. I won't always like it, but I do love what beer has to offer in every aspect. I try not to be a snob, but I really can't stand any of the domestic beers like Budweiser or Coors. Craft beer has definitely found it's place in my palate and my heart and is here to stay.
I've more recently been trying to get into wine, mostly because I am completely uneducated when it comes to anything about it. I do enjoy wine, but I haven't tried many types. I would love to enjoy more varieties and flavors and it would be nice to actually know what exactly it is that I'm drinking. There is probably more to know about wine than there is about beer and the fact that wine is so mysterious to me makes it all the more interesting.
I am going to go to a wine tasting this Friday night, I feel like the best way to learn about wine is to jump right in. I'm sure I will learn a thing or too so I am excited to go.
Are you a beer or wine person? Do you have a knowledge in either?

I identify myself as a beer person (hell, check out mine and Paige's beer blog), but I love a good wine too, particularly with Italian food.
I am most partial to wine. My temperament is so that I can't take anything too strong, ha. But I'm sure one day I'll venture to the world of beer. :)
I can only drink wine if I'm eating something along with it, otherwise I get headaches :[
But I do have a great appreciation for beer. I have yet to find a favorite though. I'm 20 years old and have some exploration yet to do haha
beer, surprisingly, is the only alcohol i can actually stand.
so, i guess i'm a beer person if anything, but i really am not one for alcohol.
Liquor ---> Wine ---> Beer.
I don't like either much but I'd take wine over beer.
I definitely prefer beer over wine. I can do both, though.
Wine>Beer
I feel like wine makes me feel a lot more "warm" then beer.
love me some good burr.
beer =)
blue moon is good and cheap for a domestic beer!
i haven't had much of wine tho, i s'pose it can be ok. i prefer jack & coke --> beer --> other stuffs.
I am both. Wine is for good food ... steak, seafood, cheeses and good bread (I am actually having a "Mom's Night Off" wine and cheese experience right now. Beer is my favourite thing in the summer, or if I have been working hard physically at something ... a nice cold beer is just the right reward for hard work, or even just a hot summer's day. Beer is a MUST when it comes to hot wings... wings and beer nights can make or break a lounge around here. Beer has just as many varieties and regions with different side flavours as wine, though... not all lagers are created equal.
As for wine, I am not a fan of many whites, but I do like the occasional White Zinfandel, more for summertime or when I am just having a glass of wine (because red wine sans food = straight to my head)
I love a lot of red wines ... I don't think the learning aspect of wine is ever over ... there are so many places that are growing grapes and making all kinds of wines, from cheap to very expensive (low quality to high quality). There is nothing better than having a nice glass of red with a steak dinner.
Port, which is "fortified" red wine is yummy, too, as I discovered at a tasting. Blue cheese on Ritz crackers... when it's half-chewed take a teensy sip of port... heaven happens right then.
Have fun at the tasting you're going to! But remember not to discount any specific grape OR any specific region ... not all Zinfandels are the same, nor are all Cabernet Sauvignons or Shiraz or Merlots. If you love one wine from, say, Germany, it doesn't mean you will love ALL German wines.
I love most Chilean Merlots, but not all of them. I don't necessarily love all Chilean wines nor all Merlots. Beaujolais is a bit of a joke --- proof that marketing can be everything. Right now I am having a Cab Sauv from right here in Canada and I love it.
beer.
Liquor and wine all the way.
Beer makes me red and itchy like a shrimp.
BEEEEEEERRRRR.
most of my female friends don't get why i love beer. but i do. i'm a whisky/beer kind of kid, wine never appealed to me. i'd drink it with food maybe, but otherwise i don't go near it.Beer is good, I guess....
I'm more of a wine person, but I really do want to start expanding my horizons into trying more unusual beers one of these days. I just don't care for the taste of hops, I think is the problem.
I don't drink, but sometimes for occasions I prefer red wine.
I don't drink often but I much prefer wine over beer. I hate beer.
Neither I rarely drink. Cannot stand the taste of booze.
i love beer, as long as i have a lime-slice nearby. otherwise, pour me a glass a wine... or a shot of tequila.
I rarely drink but when I do I choose wine or any other type of alcoholic beverage over beer. Beer's disgusting.
I like both. Cabernet Sauvignon is my wine of choice, My fave beer is Humboldt Lost Coast brand Great White. Its regional, so you may have a hard time finding it--but I've heard they sell it on the East Coast. It's nice, with a hint of orange/citrus. I am going back to Cali in sept, and will have one in celebration of my return!
I'm strictly a beer, wine, champagne, vodka, occasional Cabo Wabo tequila drinker.
i dont like wine but i'm told i will eventually. i do like a good beer though and i remember i used to hate it. but thats when i was like 13 so idk.
