  • My Weird Food Combinations as a Kid

When I was a kid I used to make up all kinds of weird things to eat. I would love putting two or three things that I loved together to see how they would taste. Most of the time they were sweet, dessert type things, but I would get really excited whenever something actually came out good.

Two of the things I actually remember both involved peanut butter. I would spread peanut butter on a piece of bread and sprinkle sugar over the top and just eat that. Surprisingly enough it tasted great and I would probably still eat it now. I used to also make this peanut butter sandwich that I would call a birthday cake and I really have no idea why I called it that, but I did. Again it was peanut butter on bread with rainbow sprinkles on top and then another layer of the same on top of that piece. I would cut it into four squares and eat it that way. These weren't very extravagant but I was proud of them as a child.

Another weird combination that I credit my dad to, is a slice of cheese on a pancake or waffle. Whenever I make pancakes I always save one to eat with a slice of american cheese. It's so good and I will continue eating those for the rest of my life. I know these aren't weird, but I always thought they were different when I was creating them. It's just fun to look back at the time and really remember making these things over and over for myself.

Do you have weird combination of food that you enjoy? Would you experiment as a kid?
