When I was a kid I used to make up all kinds of weird things to eat. I would love putting two or three things that I loved together to see how they would taste. Most of the time they were sweet, dessert type things, but I would get really excited whenever something actually came out good.
Two of the things I actually remember both involved peanut butter. I would spread peanut butter on a piece of bread and sprinkle sugar over the top and just eat that. Surprisingly enough it tasted great and I would probably still eat it now. I used to also make this peanut butter sandwich that I would call a birthday cake and I really have no idea why I called it that, but I did. Again it was peanut butter on bread with rainbow sprinkles on top and then another layer of the same on top of that piece. I would cut it into four squares and eat it that way. These weren't very extravagant but I was proud of them as a child.
Another weird combination that I credit my dad to, is a slice of cheese on a pancake or waffle. Whenever I make pancakes I always save one to eat with a slice of american cheese. It's so good and I will continue eating those for the rest of my life. I know these aren't weird, but I always thought they were different when I was creating them. It's just fun to look back at the time and really remember making these things over and over for myself.
Do you have weird combination of food that you enjoy? Would you experiment as a kid?

My dad used to make peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwiches for us.. and they were DELISH... I still have them when I'm too lazy to cook a proper meal. He used to also make peanut butter and raw mango pickle sandwiches. That was good too... I knew a girl who used to sprinkle pepper on her chocolate ice cream. isn't this a repeat post?
The one good memory that I remember having with my dad is when we used take peanut butter and fill it half with peanut butter and half with maple syrup, mix it, and just eat it straight. I ate it all the time when I was little, I think it's what made me addicted to sweets.
Cookies and gravy ALL the way!
I wouldn't call them weird, but during dinner I used to have someone cut my steak and then I would mix my mashed taters and corn, form a volcano. My steak would be the dried out lava and the gravy would be the lava! Haha!
I also used to suck on lollipops, dip them in water and then suck on them again!
Now, I think the weirdest thing I do is use orange juice instead of milk in my cereal!
this is a weird one...I use to make it when I was about 6. Bologna and hot sauce sandwich (yes I loved hot sauce as a kid)
I still put kethup in my mac and cheese.
ever since i was a kid i always loved the pb&sugar combo. when i came up with it my mom thought it was weird, and she still does, but i refused to eat the jam she got, so i sprinkled sugar to defy her. up to this day, i only eat pb with sugar or honey.
i also love apples with dijon mustard and yogurt with salt and mint.
the wierdest combo i made as a kid was probably tuna on pizza. it was pretty good from what i remember.haha.
pizza crust dipped in pop and French fries dipped in ice cream :P
the first two is just putting extra sugar on your peanut butter sandwich, therefore, only making it sweeter.. of course it's going to taste good!
Though I'll admit the third is weird... and sounds disgusting, ew
Fried Chicken and Waffles.
I don't think it's that weird, but many people do.
@Murphy_Rants@xanga - me too.
and ketchup on my eggs :)
i actually put ketchup on anything..
@arenadi@xanga - We have a resturant around here called Chicken and Waffles.
I used to put ketchup on my mashed potatoes. :)
Ketchup on my eggs. Maple syrup in my milk. Butter with mayo in a ham in cheese sandwich (we made those in Nicaragua, over there, it's not weird at all).
In fact I still do those, minus the sandwich one.
@mymindsblank@xanga - *high five* FUCK YEAH KETCHUP!
i love honey and PB~ <3
my friend likes strawberry jam and cheese and peanut butter in crackers
My parents fed us fast-food a lot. I would dip half of each French fry into ketchup, and the other half into my chocolate shake. I liked it at the time. I can't imagine why anymore.
Also, my little sister would eat peanut butter and butter sandwiches every day. I tried it one time, and it was absolutely disgusting.
I used to eat a lot of peanut butter, cucumber and cheese sandwiches and icecream on toast :)
@Murphy_Rants@xanga - mmm thats my favorite. i actually just had some mac and cheese with ketchup for dinner :) its to die for.
but i eat ketchup on everything. i put it on crackers, saltine and cheezits, pickles, my pizza, celery, tuna, i just love ketchup :)
Yesss! Hot dogs and milk.
haha that last one is pretty odd. the pb ones sound tasty though.
At school, when we have plain baked chips, I dip them in musturd. It's not something I do alot, or love, but it's good.
Ummm, I use to do the sugar thing on my PB sandwich, because my mom use to get the all natural, weird kind.
Um, I love nutella on apples!!! YUM!
I would always put mayonnaise ketchup and mustard together and whip it up and put it on my grilled cheese and ham sandwich. everyone always thought i was weird for doing that.
my sister still dunks her wendy's french fries and chicken nuggets into her frosty...
This isn't a combination but my friend used to eat mayo sandwiches. Yup, just mayo and white bread. Ugh.
