After reading this
post on Serious Eats and looking at the brilliant food/movie poster mashups, I started thinking about the upcoming Academy Awards. Tradition demands that I have a party, but money dictates that it not be extravagant (because, you know, all of my parties in college are catered affairs). Thankfully, there are tons of cheapskate foodies out there on the Internet, and I was able to plan my menu in no time.
This Oscar party will be all small bites!
- Chili-Spiced Nuts. Hey, it's a cocktail party...nuts are necessary.
- Guiltless Guacamole. If there's anything I could eat for the rest of my life, it's guacamole. So it better be guiltless.
- Parmesan Pita Crisps. A welcome alternative to the Tostitos and dip of years past.
- Caramel Corn. To give the party a feeling of being at the movies...but better.
And to drink? Well, to keep things on the cheap side, I'm planning on going with my good friend
Andre. It may not be the classiest, but it does resemble champagne, and what is an Oscar party without a little bubbly?
So what will you be making for the Academy Awards? What movies are you rooting for?

I'll have to try some of these recipes. However, i could care less about the Oscars.
I stopped paying attention to the Oscars when they gave Best Picture to a piece of Woody Allen crap over Star Wars. I don't know what I will be doing, but I definitely won't be watching the Oscars.
And the Oscar goes to....stomach.
I saw some of the Oscar food on the telly, and those celebrities are lucky bitches. I don't care much for the Oscars.
super cute! =]
