It's that time again...everyone's got Olympic fever! After reading this article,"
Gold Medal Meals" that focused on the grub served at the Olympic Village in Vancouver, I briefly contemplated changing my major to either "skiing" or "figure skating." Unfortunately, as I am an OK skier, an awful ice skater, and those are not actual majors anyway, I will just have to settle for cooking some Olympic dishes.
Fondue. Let's face it, Vancouver is cold! You need some warm, creamy dishes to heat you up after watching people sliding on ice all day. Try this recipe for a perfect
winter fondue.
Chili. A popular dish on the ski slopes, this can be made
vegetarian or with beef. Hearty, filling and perfect for all those calories you're burning trying to imitate the snowboarders.
Smoked salmon. This fish is authentically Canadian, and especially on the West Coast. In fact, let's take it a step further and turn it into
chowder, another excellent food on the slopes.
Red and white salad. Celebrate the Canadian flag with this
winter salad. A healthy dish so you can maintain your athletic figure.
What are you eating in honor of the Olympics? What do you eat to stay warm on the slopes?

Dunno if the author of this hasn't been paying attention to the weather conditions in Vancouver.. but it's been raining at least once a day.. Which means it's not very cold (I'm from Northern Ontario, let me tell ya about cold)
