  • Top 5 Breakfasts!

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day.  There are a myriad of options out there.  If you want something sweet, you can have it.  If you are looking more for a savory dish, you can have that. Just about anything goes for breakfast, including cold pizza (which is surprisingly good).

    5.  French Toast.  But not just any type of French toast, Challah French Toast.  If you have only eaten French toast with regular slices of bread, you don’t know what you are missing.  Challah bread is a sweet bread with a sort of light cake-substance.  And if you zest a little orange over the French toast, you’ll think you’ve died and entered Julia Child’s kitchen.

    4.  Bacon and Eggs.  I know you’re thinking, “Well, duh, that is such an obvious breakfast favorite,” but I’m talking about real bacon and eggs.  A huge slab of thick-cut bacon (none of that supermarket bacon) and gorgeous orange-yolk eggs make the dish so much fresher and more enjoyable, not to mention a heck of a lot healthier.

    3.  Oatmeal.  Most days, I eat oatmeal with milk, honey and coconut.  It is a really fast and simple breakfast to make when I am rushing to catch the bus and the combo is both sweet and delicious.

    2.   Nutella.  Nutella on toast, that is.  If you’ve never tried Nutella, turn off your computer and go to the store to buy some right now.  It is an incredibly creamy chocolate and hazelnut spread that tastes good on just about anything.  If I put it on whole wheat toast, it makes me feel like I am making it a real meal.

    1.  Monkey Bread.  No, I’m not eating Curious George for breakfast.  Monkey bread is magnificent concoction of biscuits, butter, sugar and cinnamon (recipe).  Clearly not the sort of thing you should eat everyday but perfect for every once in a while or a holiday breakfast.  My mom still makes it for me every Christmas morning.  This is definitely my number one favorite breakfast food.
