Daily Q: What's Your Comfort Food of Choice?
I like to think I have a varied diet, but there are always certain foods we turn to when we just want something familiar, reliable, tasty, perfect. For me, that's a cheeseburger and fries. Call me trite, but don't expect me to respond; I'm eating.

Fried plantains with refried beans and/or Salvadorean cream! Chocolate chip or Oreo cookies are cool too though.
Specifically, my dad's cheeseburgers!
My family's Cheesey Potatoes. Or Coldstone Cake Batter ice cream.
My vegetarian chicken fried "steak," with rice, potatoes, and non-dairy cream gravy, served with a side of sauteed asparagus and mushrooms.
Pot roast - lots of good roast, carrots, potatoes, onions, herbs and spices. My favorite
Anything my mom makes. She makes this one dish called biryani. That's just a fancy way of saying meat, potatoes, and rice all thrown together in a huge pot. I've been hooked on that stuff ever since I was a kid and she makes it perfect every single time.
Chicken noodle soup in a bread bowl or a bagel with butter. I like to keep it simple
@imyourstargirl@xanga - Biryani -- now THATS comfort food, imo. I think it's more than just "stuff in pot" -- it has something about it; when you open the lid of the pot, and there's an unmistakable sensation of soul-warmth that you get with not only the first bite, but the first smell, down to the last.
I like Chicken Fried Steak with Country Gravy, Chunky Mashed Potatoes, Corn on the Cob, Garlic Bread, with a side of Baked Macaroni and Cheese. And a frosty glass bottle of Coke.
@arenadi@xanga - I think thats the best description of biryani ever =).
Every region of south asia has its own variety and way to make it. I love making biryani...if you know how to make perfect biryani in india/pakistan your definitely considered a master chef! Lol. Anyways, now I'm craving some....mmmm
Indian food wise, I would say biryani and chicken khorma. American cuisine I would say, cake, french fries and hotdogs =).

There's this chinese place downtown that serves the yummiest szechuan beef fried noodles with lots of spicy sauce. You get a huge pile of it in a styrofoam box and it's so comforting to take it home, plant myself on the couch and eat the entire mountain lol
