This is a guest post from Sweet Paul.
Everyone should have a go-to-cake. By go-to-cake I mean a cake you can whip up on short notice and that always taste great. This chocolate cake is just that, super easy, fast and yummy. Try it, it might become your cake as well.
The heart on top is just make with a heart cut of paper and placed on top of the cake. Then sift some powdered sugar on top and gently remove the paper. Great for Valentines.
Sweet Paul's Easy Chocolate Cake
- 1 stick melted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 tablespoons baking cocoa
- 3/4 cup plain flour
Instructions:
- Pre-heat your oven to 320F, 160C.
- Stir butter and sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the eggs and mix well.
- Stir in vanilla, cocoa and flour.
- Pour the batter in a buttered cake tin and bake for about 30 minutes.
- The cake is best if its a little underbaked in the middle, like a soft brownie.
- Take out and let cool a little.
- Serve while still a little hot a la mode or with some whipped cream.
Enjoy!

I have a go-to cake. It's called Betty Crocker.
would this work for someone who is absolutely hopeless with cakes?
I just made a Go-Cake from a not well known brand. But I love it! I made the Carrot cake, and made the icing sugar out the normal way....
how much is 1 stick melted butter in grams?
@nickiesneon@xanga - same here!
yummy
seems easy enough but how many does it serve?
@mz_d0rkabl3@xanga - If it's a standard round cake (as in the picture) then it will serve 4-16, depending on the size of the slice.
