Restaurant Week in the Big Apple
NYC Restaurant Week Winter 2010 is here!
One of my favourite things about living in New York is access to some of the most amazing food on earth. From cheap eats (oodles of small but fantastic Thai restaurants in Hell's Kitchen where I live) to the elitist, splurge-worthy dining experiences (Per Se, Masa, Le Bernadin, Le Cirque...), it's really possible to get a taste of the world here. Restaurant Week is a way for us regular folks to be able to experience dining at some of the finest, most expensive restaurants in NYC.Throughout the city, participating restaurants offer 3-course prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus for $24 and $35 a person. It's still no small chunk of change, but it beats paying $100+ regularly for a 3-course meal at these restaurants. (On that note, I still don't know how restaurants like Per Se get away with charging $300+ per person for a single meal... if you've got money in NYC, you have a place to spend it, that's for sure.)
