  • Celebrate Winter Solstice Festival by Having Some Tangyuan

Happy Chinese Christmas! Haha, that's what mum calls Dong Zhi.

I love the Chinese winter solstice festival because I get to get my hands all dirty... because we get to make tangyuan.

I find it funny that we celebrate it in Malaysia even though there is no winter here.

    Let's start with the ingredients...

    pandan leaf

    ginger

    colorful glutinous rice flour dough

Start with making the dough into little balls like these:

    then boil it:

Serve with the glutinous rice balls in sugar syrup or a red bean drink. Then you're done!

Cute, pretty, and colorful yummy desert for Dongzhi.

Do you celebrate Dongzhi? If you do, what other traditional dishes you usually eat?
