The holidays are here! This means family, friends, and lots of food! During the month, everyone in my family lends a hand in the kitchen to make special dishes for Christmas Eve (my family finds the 24th more important than Christmas day). My mother has been making rump roast every Christmas Eve, and it is just sooo good! She has yet to tell me what she puts on it to make it so moist and tasty.
I try to help out in the kitchen, but baked goods are the only thing I'm good at. For about three years now, I've been making my cinnamon apple crumb cupcakes and three-layered rainbow cookies. Although, this year I may change it up a bit and try a cooked dish.
What is your favorite holiday dish? Have you made anything that has become a family favorite?

Egg dumplings! Except those are really more for Chinese New Year, not the holidays in December. We don't have anything particularly special on Christmas or New Years.
Green bean casserole, for sure. =] The major food argument in our house around the holidays is whether we'll use frozen, fresh, or canned beans. My preference is always canned; I'm a firm believer that Christmas is not the time to watch your sodium intake.
