  • Foods That Fight Stress

      

    The holiday season is sooner than you think. Along with the holiday cheer there is also the holiday stress.

    Epicurious has listed 5 awesome foods that kick that bad-stress away. Here are the highlights:


    1. Spinach
    Spinach has magnesium which keeps blood pressure from going through the roof.

    2. Oranges
    Usually when people go through a lot of stress, it can lower the immune system. The vitamin C in oranges and other citrus fruits can help defend the body.



    3. Fish

    Fish rich with Omega-3 fatty acids can help prevent depression and anxiety during those tough and stressful times during the year. 

    4. Oatmeal
    B-vitamins in oatmeal stimulate the production of serotonin which sends soothing signals to the brain.


    5. Chocolate

    This probably the only stress fighting food I'll be eating quite a lot of. Chocolate releases endorphins, the happy hormones into the body making you feel more relaxed. The higher concentration of cocoa (65% or darker), the better it is for you, and good for the heart too.
