I usually just do the same thing with the top... peel it in the opposite direction it's leaning. Works every time!
that's no fun! I like to grab the top and RIIIIIPP that skin down the side. It gives me satisfaction.
No... a guy in my language class can split a banana down the middle. A clean, perfect split. It looks like he used a knife to do it but just used his hands.
THAT's something I want to learn. . .

I thought he was going to bite it at the other end and peel it back with his teeth, and I just convinced my fiance that was not the way to enjoy a banana... that was a tense few moments.
I'll stick to the peeling back from the stem though... never has failed me.I hadn't ever thought to do it that way. :) Definitely have to try that in a few days when my bananas ripen enough.

That's how my mom taught me years ago, when I was really small. Peeling it from the stem end always ended with me having half a mushy banana cuz I'd smash it up too much trying to open it. And yes, that IS how monkeys really do it.
