These cookies are so pretty!
They were hard to make at first, but once I got used to it, it was pretty fun. They really look like play-doh! What kid wouldn't love these?
Ingredients:- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 3 ounces cream cheese
- 1 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- assorted varieties of food coloring
Directions:
In a bowl cream butter, cream cheese and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat until smooth. In a medium bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture. Stir till soft dough forms. Divide dough into fourths. Tint each with a different food color. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 2 hours. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Working with each color, shape dough into 3/4 inch balls. Before you roll For each cookie place 1 ball of each color together next to each other in your hand. Shape into a 12 inch long roll (like a snake); starting at one end, coil roll to make a 2 3/4 inch round cookie. If they're sticking to your hands when you try to roll them, pat your hands in flour or powdered sugar first. Place cookies 3 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake cookies for 6 to 8 minutes or until done. They should still be soft. Cool and store in airtight container.
Optional- Carefully insert lollipop sticks into bottoms of cookie.

Enjoy ;)

Mmm! Sounds good! These cookies sure are pretty, and I'm sure they're just as delicious as they are beautiful!
How cute. I thought at first these were play-doh figures that were supposed to look like cookies.
WHOA!
at first iw as like holy shit people better not eat those because play-doh isn't good to eat! and then i realized it was an actual cookie! how awesome! definitely trying this :)
Haha, totally thought it was play-doh!! Definitely going to try out this recipe. Thanks!! :)
That is awesome!
I'm going to have to make those with my daughters
Thanks for sharing!
they're cute but I'd be scared to eat them. eep!
I'll be making these very soon!
nice.will be trying this very soon
@Meowmeowkimmaee@xanga , @snapeful@xanga , @b3withyou@xanga - My son thought they were play-doh too! He just stared at the cookie after I told him to eat it. haha
@KimisBarbie@xanga - HAHAHA i totally would do that :)
Yumm! Thank you for sharing. :D The colours are so pretty!
don't think i'll eat it if a small kid hand that to me. lol
Definitely making these! It looks so yummy!
Looks good as long as little kids dont get trained to eat colorful stuff.
Ahh, nothing better than cancer added to my cookies.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE oddly colored foods. I just don't eat too many of them.
they look rly nifty. i'd combine mint flavorings wih the blue and fruit flavorings with the other colors to give it an extra cosmic kick.
i love u wrist tat as well. way way way cool ^^
I bet wilton food dyes would make them very lively and bright. (found in bakery aisle) I feel like it would take a whole bottle of regular McCormick food coloring... that stupid stuff... you have intrigued me to make thanksgiving ones with my niece! Red, orange, yellow, and brown colored ones.
@shunny@xanga - my sentiments exactly haha
omgosh thats such a fun idea :P
Are these are like sugar cookies? Like would they last a couple days in a box if I sent them to Afghanistan for my brother for his birthday/thanksgiving? Or are they like doughy/need to be kept at certain temps? I was hoping my niece could make them for her uncle here soon to send across.
@FallingSafely@xanga - they're like sugar cookies, but they have cream cheese in them, so i'm not sure if that matters. I've had mine in a plastic container for a couple days, and they're still good. maybe even better
@KimisBarbie@xanga - hmm yah usually it takes about a week to get stuff across and i don't assume they would last more then a day over there. Homemade cookies + soldiers = devour. Especially if they're happy cookies with bright colors. : ) So I'll do it.
Those look radioactive to me. Heh heh,
@FallingSafely@xanga - cool! I hope he likes them :)
