Daily Q: What Do You Eat When You're Feeling Blue?
No matter how unwise it may be to drown one's sorrows in sugar or salt, there's no avoiding the fact that our emotions have an impact on what we eat. How exactly that manifests itself is much more variable.
Do you tend to binge when you're feeling down? Or do you eat healthier as a way of boosting your own morale? Or do just not feel like eating altogether?

I normally do peanut butter and apples, combined with lots and lots of Scotch.

Nothing specific, really. I think I tend to eat less if I upset.
I wish I could eat when I'm down.
Any sort of dessert usually makes me feel better, or take me out to a buffet so I can just take it out on the food lol...

Actually, I don't think my personal eating habits change when I'm feeling sad.

if i am really down in the pits like now, it zaps my hunger and i cant eat for hours or days. i dont get to see one of my closets friends for like 8 months due to the military.

I don't eat when I'm upset.
Fried chicken and chips, fish and chips, crisps, chocolate, beer, all things unhealthy really :).

eat all kinds of snacks and then regret eating...and more blues...=[

I definitely binge when I'm upset, usually on chocolate related food items or anything laden with sugar.
I eat something that will cheer me up, some treat i've been saving or sugary juice.
If I'm down because I'm missing Boyfriend, I'll put on his sweatshirt, cuddle the stuffed seal he gave me, and eat something that reminds me of him (usually eggs in toast); if I'm down because I'm stressed or otherwise upset, I generally lose my appetite.
i realise i don't eat when i'm sad lol. but i really like to eat. strange
When I'm feeling blue all I ever want is Rum and Coke (Bacardi Limon & Diet Coke w/ Lime)
When I'm upset, it's more about the cooking than the eating. I'll make something delicious, invite a friend or two over, or simply set a nice place at the table for my husband so we can enjoy something homemade and talk over what's bugging us. However, if it's been an extremely bad day and it's getting late in the evening, we'll go out to a coffeehouse for a sandwich or soup to blow off steam.
right now, I sure could go for something uplifting. Hmm, maybe a nice, juicy steak will bring me up.
Salt and vinegar chips with cheese cubes, or any chips really.Â
@arenfro@xanga - same here, i always thought it was odd the i will cook when i am upset, but it helps me temporarily
