Daily Q: How Do You Take Your Bagel?
I'm an eternal believer in the everything bagel, and a hater of blueberry. I'll take mine with lox-scallion cream cheese on most days, but sometimes with hummus if I'm feeling like something lighter.
How do you take your bagel?

i like a plain bagel with cream cheese and lox. i've never tried lox-scallion cream cheese but it sounds like something i'd love *drooool*
Warm with cream cheese and lox. Or if I can't afford lox, cream cheese and sliced tomatoes or with lox-cream cheese.
@eomona@xanga - my favourite as well! lol
Cinnamon raisin toasted with butter.
I have mine toasted (wholegrain) with garlic and herb cream cheese, and then topped with fresh from the garden tomato slices and cracked pepper. It's really good. :)
sesame, bulk... I rarely eat them, but as a carb hit on the go. Nothing on it, not even cut.
i love toasted bagels with strawberry cream cheese.

@caeliosophy@xanga - ME TOOO!!!
Alright, first of all... it has to be an f'n real Bagel. Which means it was made by someone who actually knows how to make a real Bagel.
No, not the kind that's the same texture inside and out, that's limp and pale brown, but still kind of uncomfortably chewy and makes you feel like a horse chewing on something.
I'm talking about the kind that has that crisp bite on the outside when you first bite in, with soft, meltingly tender, almost cloud-like dough, chewy but just enough, that melts into your mouth with every bite.
The kind made by people who don't give a damn that the stuff they use to make their bagels with is the same stuff that Tyler Durden used to burn a hole in the Narrator's hand with. Stuff that most people would be shocked to know was used to make their food -- and that bakeries in the US are scared to use out of liability issues with employees.
Once I have that, I don't need anything else. Maybe a quick toasting under a broiler, with some cold cream cheese, and it's Bagel Heaven.
It's times like these I miss The City.
Classic: toasted with cream cheese
Or my ULTIMATE FAVOURITE

@chow - i can see the you're passionate about food XD your bagel description makes it seem like it's the most epic food ever lol
@chow - I WANT A BAGEL LIKE THAT! where the heck can i get one? you make it sound so good.
@lot223@xanga - it's amazing! haha. sometimes i'll go the extra mile and get a cinnamon raisin bagel, XD.
Only plain or raisin bagels, with butter and maybe sometimes toasted. I'm a pretty plain kinda person heh.
@TakingxOverxMe@xanga - same here! lol (:
toasted cheese bagel with sour cream. or butter.
@eomona@xanga - I can't remember where you are... but if you're in NYC chances are you've had a proper bagel :) If not, chances are that you haven't haha. I know, I know, but it's not just stupid NYC Metrocentrism, it's true for the most part. I'm considering doing a proper Bagel-making post on CHOW, but I'm a little concerned because to really do it right, you need to handle some very caustic ingredients; and I don't want anyone burning a hole in their hand trying to make these. Upside to that of course, is that pretty much anyone can make a NYC quality Bagel at home. :)
Oh, and Happy Birthday btw :)
@Effervescent@lovelyish - Yes, VERY passionate about food :D You should see the Food Porn =O
I like different kind of bagels with cream cheese.
