An Olympic gold medal? A mission to mars? A commemorative sushi role that looks like his face, where they use chopped shrimp for the skin and fish paste for the teeth and even speckle his hair with black sesame seeds?
Yeah, the sushi one. Let's go with that.
The above creation is just the latest
maki masterpiece from Japanese chef Ken Kawasumi, who has contributed to the world sushi tributes to Vincent van Gogh and several cook books teaching readers how to make their raw fish into works of art.
The face pieces appear as part of larger canvas that features seaweed-wrapped renderings of an American flag, smiley faces, hearts and pink and green streetcars for some reason. Who needs Mount Rushmore?

Oh my gosh, I saw the title and i had to to a gander. I thought he just named a sushi roll after Obama; I was gonna say, I went to a gophers game last year around this time, and afterward my uncle took me out for sushi at a place called Wassabi in Minneapolis. We sampled many sushi dishes, but the second to last one had the named Obama roll --it was before the election mind you-- the only reason I got it was because it had jalapeno sauce over it; the McCain rolls were milder I guess. Anyhow, they looked like caterpillar rolls, but a lot bigger and tastier.
