Your next ingredient of the week has arrived, and it's a hard one not to love.
It may be the bane of impressionable school children and former presidents, but get beyond the first impressions and broccoli could well be seen as God's gift to cooks. Though all but flavorless, what this veggie lacks in zing it makes up for in versatility. It can be cooked in any number of ways; it can be the star of the dish or a role player; its crispiness can be embraced or gotten rid of entirely; and its bristly head is ideal for soaking up any kind of seasoning.
In other words, it's the perfect vehicle to showcase a chef's creativity, so why not try your hand?
Submit your homespun broccoli recipes along with a picture throughout the week and we'll bring you the results sometime this weekend. As always, good luck!

"All but flavorless"? Are we talking about different veggies here?! I think broccoli has a very yummy flavor; if I'm feeling lazy, I won't even bother adding any seasonings, I"ll just steam it and eat it plain.
I love broccoli! Raw or cooked.
I LOVE broccoli :)
I LOVE broccoli! IN my younger days I was turned off by the thought of eating it, but now I just love it. I like it simply steams, no butter or no salt needed, and especially NO cheese. Simplicity is best.
i love brocolli!
Cover it in garlic, butter, or especially cheese, and you have one of my favorite side dishes.
@Lets_GetIt_Started@xanga - What?! No cheese, No CHEESE? blasphemy! Or it could be my cheese loving Wisconsin pride talking. Nah, I am going to have to go with blasphemy.
I love broccoli. I always have. It is best when stir fried with soy sauce. It is best stir fried with just about anything. =]
I despise broccoli. I have tried to like it, but there is nothing to love.
