Behold, the Buddha Pear

For the latest installment of our unintended series on genetically engineered fruit that looks like stuff, Xanga team member Janet tipped us off on some pears being grown in the Hebei province of eastern China in the shape of a Buddha. Much like the square and heart-shaped watermelons we've discussed on IRLF, these craft fruits were a labor of love, taking a full six years to perfect.
Cute, ain't it?
