Making a "bunny in a hole" is basically like making toast with an egg directly into the center of the bread.
It's not my recipe or anything, but I figured a few foodies might know this recipe or want to give it a try. It's a simple, but a cute idea. I made it this morning.The necessary ingredients and materials are:
- one piece of toast
- one (chicken) egg
- butter (or your preferred alternative)
- a medium/small sized drinking cup
- a medium sized frying pan (must be big enough to fit the toast)
- some sort of cooking oil (canola or vegetable oil works)
- spoons or some sort of utensils
- soy sauce (entirely optional)
Now, follow these easy steps:
1) Start off with a piece of bread/toast preferably un-toasted.
Break it in half like this.
...and in half again.
The END...product> a bunny in a hole... well I redesigned the bunny look if you don't mind. lol.
Bunny dunked in soy sauce (optional) lol.
So what do you foodies think of this 'bunny in a hole'? Have you heard of it before (I'm sure it's a common recipe)? If you haven't, are you going to try making this?

My bother made it before, minus the bunny ears and said it's called a tadpole.
It looks a little sloppy, but I guess I would try it. I really like to stretch out my egg whites as much as possible, though. More egg for me >:]
Looks like something fun for kids, but I would definitely try to make it someday.

We call it 'eggs in a nest' (or, egg bread), and we just cook the egg in the middle of the piece of toast. Yum!

My husband calls it Sunshine toast...and, If you pop the yellow, and let it cook, and then put maple syrup on it (Without soy sauce)....its wonderful!
